I was raised as Catholic. Went to a Catholic high-school and whatnot. We weren't practicing, so to speak, but the idea of God was assumed to be true in our household. I'd say I started to look at religion likearound age 10. A lot of stuff just didn't add up in my mind so when I got older, Atheism just became the natural answer, I guess.
When you say "I know God is real", does that not require some level of mental gymnastics on your part to reconcile what appears to be a great deal of bs in the bible? Not a troll question, but I mean when you read that stuff, do you take it literally or... nah?

idk how the grand canyon was formed but i know it older then 10,000 years so im confused is everything in the bible factual or is it imperfect because that would mean you are basing your entire existence on a imperfect book and once again that's my issue I know I don't have all the answer but there are things from the bible that people believe that are incorrect and not debatable and that has a influence on my everyday life.

Thats not what I mean I dont think it sinking in you are still looking at it from a religious perspective when someone doesnt get there sick child cancer treatment thats a issue for me when people push there morality on other people about who they can marry thats an issue for me when they say dont use contraceptives thats an issue for me and when people tell women they cant get an abortion no matter the circumstance even if it rape thats an issue for me.
