It depends. Same thing with white, Asian, Hispanic people. You can have long hair if you want. Style is up to you.

Bullshyt.

When At work I see the white boys, asian dudes etc all rip the shyt out of each other for receding hairlines and shytty haircuts.
What part of the "I SEE" did you not understand, breh? I said "I", and i even put is all in capital letter. Did i need to bold is and underline and have it flashing?

Black men are the only ones I SEE that be quick to clown each other's minor imperfections about their haircuts and hairlines.

Yeah @Kluivert white dudes make fun of gingers and call them all sorts of names . And they make fun of other white dude hairstyles all the time I remember the football coach at my school use to clown all the white players once their hair got to a certain length.

It's easier to maintain. It takes time, effort, and money to keep long black hair maintained. I feel and look better with short hair :yeshrug:

No problem if you just stated your limited observations and left it at that. But you decided to try and bring all that colonization shyt into it. It's not that deep. It's dudes being dudes and clowning each other.

Cacs made it this way. Years ago men of my tribe(not all) kept their hair long while the women shaved. After colonization men having long hair is considered "unafrican". Same goes for piercings and tats. :what:We started all this shyt tho. I keep my fro similar to Ice cube in my avy

I always hated getting my hair cut. Something about it felt unnatural to me. I only kept it cut because my mom wanted it cut. When I got old enough to do what I wanted with it I stopped going to the Barbershop. Think I was around 11-12

Those were two separate points, doggy. I made sure to separate the trend followers and the others i mentioned. In Haitian culture anything not resembling a "regular haircut" is typically perceived as juvenile and and "hoodlum" and "drugee". I was 12 and got a high-top and my aunt saw it and called my dad before i could even say hello. And this was before cell phones. I had to go cut it off within that same hour

Okay but you said "looked down on" so I assumed you meant the business world.
Are you saying that black people with long hair are looked down upon by other black people? (in regards to style)

I'm just trying to make sure I understand you

Im saying the whole haircut thing has more to do with our style than other races.
Do we look down on long hair not really but we do look down on brothers that have this style of cut

Fair play bro, I misread your post.

I can relate to the bit in bold, my folks are Ghanaian and the moment my hair grew over a #2, my dad would hit me with the :scust:and march me to the barbershop. But I don't think that's due to colonization, it's just a lot of non-Western parents that emigrated tend to be very conservative when you really think about it... it's different nowadays though.
