I just have my hair cut close because I don't feel like spending all day in the barber shop. Also, its easy to maintain. You don't have to do anything with it. I've never cared about my hair enough to style it any other way.

Yeah @Kluivert white dudes make fun of gingers and call them all sorts of names . And they make fun of other white dude hairstyles all the time I remember the football coach at my school use to clown all the white players once their hair got to a certain length.

I always hated getting my hair cut. Something about it felt unnatural to me. I only kept it cut because my mom wanted it cut. When I got old enough to do what I wanted with it I stopped going to the Barbershop. Think I was around 11-12

I can relate to the bit in bold, my folks are Ghanaian and the moment my hair grew over a #2, my dad would hit me with the and march me to the barbershop. But I don't think that's due to colonization, it's just a lot of non-Western parents that emigrated tend to be very conservative when you really think about it... it's different nowadays though.
