Do they still play "Cutie Pie" by Cameo on the radio every hour back home in the DMV?...lol.
All jokes aside, a brother can get a decent looking girl in the DMV if he got his stuff together, and don't live in the hood. This thread got me missing the DMV a little. Because I'll never get use to how these women down here in Atlanta like to turn their noses up at you, even the middle aged buffaloes. Not saying that don't happen in the DMV, but that kind of shyt be off the chain down here in the ATL. I noticed that when I first moved here. The only time it gets that way in the DMV is if you're in a place that's crowded. But down here, it could be just you and a sister the size of a buffalo, inside a park darn near the size of Hains Point, and she would walk by you, almost bumping shoulders, without even looking your way.
Plus a lot of these women down here, even the ones my age, still never heard of the movie "Cooley High". I know I said all jokes aside, but I'm not joking this time. This one girl I was dating, she finally remembered the movie because she caught the last part, I guess on cable. That was the most touching part, which was when Preach had to miss Cochise' funeral, and arrived at the cemetery right after everybody left, and they had just played "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday" by G.C. Cameron. How could anybody Black, that was a teenager in the 70's like me, not know about "Cooley High", no matter what part of the country they grow up in? Although it wasn't a deal-breaker, I met two women down here who didn't really know about this classic movie. One was a year younger than me, and one was a year older than me. I didn't ask anybody else after that. I was like, "Where in the world did I move to?"
But in the DMV, I'm not too sure about the club scene. I think it got dull over the last 10 years, especially inside the city. However when it comes to the women, not saying the ATL don't have their share, you'll see better looking ones on average in the DMV in my opinion, and the baddest chicks aren't hard to find, and you don't have to drive a half hour or more to bump into one, or have to find them living around a lot of Whites, unless you live in certain places in NOVA. Down here the fine women are a little too spread out, compared to what I'm use to seeing in the DMV.
