Well I live in a neighborhood called Noma. It’s gentrified as hell but next to Union Market which is an eatery with different cuisines. Right by union market there are a lot of little shops and stores and stuff. At night, on the weekends, it’s a dope atmosphere.
There’s a lot to do: museums, hiking, art galleries, etc. There are a lot of parks as well. Metro is easy to navigate if you don’t want to drive in the city.
I’ve been here for a year now and people are generally friendly, plus you get all 4 seasons. Traffic is a bytch getting in and out of DC at most hours of the day though.

I’ve been wanting to hit up Union Market for a long while. It’s also another large market not far from it called Florida Ave Market, which looks a lot grittier and not as fancy as Union Market but you can find a good amount of shyt there from the merchants as well as plenty of butcher shops, seafood markets, kitchenware shops, African clothing/textile boutiques, international food marts, etc. Btw, near one of those two markets is an axe-throwing bar/lounge establishment that you could hit up with your crew or with a date.
Anyway, glad to see you enjoying DC so far slim. Welcome to the family
