How do you make it work on one income, if one of the parents is staying home to teach?

Make more money so you can afford to have a stay at home wife , or one of you works evening/nights/weekends (like a nurse working Fri-Sun or weekends only, etc). This is for folks who are intentional and serious about family planning.

I know my future children will be in private school and it will cost a grip.

People with disposable income after bills are paid. Even with 2 incomes most black families are barely above water. Considering the fact that a black kid is most likely to be born in a single parent home, Homeschooling is out of the question. I'm not against homeschooling but we should be fighting to make the public schools a better place for the kids.

The show segment speaks about the option that this lady explored. I don't think it's an either/or issue, as there are options that are more practical to a wider range of families. Saturday School and other ways to supplement the public school instruction have been what our family has done informally.

But I must ask you, if many Black families don't have the means to homeschool, how do you think they have the resources to change public school systems in significant ways?
