OP is just a miserable "nikka" if it wasn't already abundantly clear.
Probably just a bug in the system. But the cynical side of me says their reporting team is preparing for next year and will probably be extra strict about timely payments for the reason I mentioned. Somebody might have been testing a report and accidentally sent it for real.but the interest and payments are paused till 2023
The average student loan debt for a black person is in the 30 to 50k range. All my shyt getting clearedOnly had 14k left out of 17 and I had pell grants throughout. It’s actually a lot of people like me that got relatively manageable debts from college (I’d assume we are the majority just off the fact most students go to instate public institutions but they’ll fix the numbers and make you fearful).
We’ll 10-20k is anywhere from 20-66% of the loan so at least they’re going to get some help. I got lucky and had a supportive fam and went to a school that wasn’t too far.The average student loan debt for a black person is in the 30 to 50k range.
It's not fair to have paid off 90% of your loan...then this break comes...too late.
Yes, I am salty & butthurt.
Don't @ me. IDC.
It won’t even put a dent in most borrowers balance
And people forget that the federal government helped fund public college and universities along with state funding with is why it was so affordable.
But the generation before the baby boomers didn’t want their tax dollars going toward public school funding.. mainly racist CAC who didn’t want it and congress obliged them. Then the burden fell on states. Then schools raised everything once the student loan racket was invented.
sounds like some fukk shyt these loan companies would doProbably just a bug in the system. I’ve seen it happen in my old job before.
I’m happy for everyone it helped but for those people, their life doesn’t change because it’s the same monthly payments and interest. There’s just a little more light at the end. But the key word is you saying lucky. We should not have an educational policy that favors the lucky. We’ll 10-20k is anywhere from 20-66% of the loan so at least they’re going to get some help. Because it’s not everyone responsibility to pay back other peoples loans.
