:comeon: And CP3 isn't the best floor general in the NBA while still averaging close to 20 points a game you make it sound like CP3 is offensively challenged or something breh. Fact remains CP3 is only averaging 4 less points while doing everything else better than Curry. You Put CP3 on the Warriors and they ain't no dam 8th seed. Better shooter doesn't always = better offensive player. If CP3 wanted to he could put up 30 ppg and jack up shots all game long but that's not his style.

If you want to say paul is better then curry because of his offense I'm fine with that(I agree but it's getting close)but when people want to bring up defense is when I laugh. Paul is not gary Payton level impact on defense, he's not even prime kidd. He's an above average help defender. Plus with no HC PG's can't really impact the game like that on defense anymore.

And I completely disagree with paul putting up 30 PPG over the course of a season

Can't forget Curry is still 3 years younger than CP3.... Once he begins to hit his ceiling, like Durant is doing now, he'll be LIGHT YEARS ahead of CP3....

Being the best shooter in NBA history is never going to leave him.... EVER.... His awareness and offensive skills and intangibles will only get better, and then he'll become the best player in the NBA hands down, behind KD probably.

In the playoffs last year, Curry was the MVP of the ENTIRE playoffs before they got bounced... Even above the "Best player in the world" Lebron James... He was the best, PERIOD....

Tell me when you can ever say that about CHris paul.... All you hear about paul is how he gets swept.

That's my final piece on the argument.... Facts Only...... Anyone want to dispute this is just indenial, and I don't argue with people of that ilk.

Oh, and street knowledge... Don't let these nikkas punk you into some shyt that is not true.

Steph curry is the best shooter in the HISTORY of the NBA.... Has a higher true shooting percentage than Paul... Has better 3 point and FT percentage... Averages 5 more points per game.... And is close to paul in assist.... So how in the fukk can paul be a better offensive player, by ANY STRETCH of the imagination??

Don't let dudes back you off your argument based on facts because they are butt hurt.

:what:

If Curry was the best player in the Offs last year then why did he let the Spurs come back and beat them in game 1?

Why did they lose that series?

Curry is VERY good but y'all are crowning the kid when he has accomplished NOTHING yet. He has yet to even see the type of success CP saw when he was KILLING it with the Hornets.

That was some of the best PG I've EVER seen, good defense, almost no turnovers, was a true floor GENERAL and made players like David West a freaking ALL-STAR!

Curry STILL has a lot of work to do to improve parts of his game and become a BETTER PG. it's a big reason why his team is fighting for an eight seed when they were supposed to be one of the best teams in the west. His game isn't transcendent.

Because CP3 is a much better passer, much better at protecting the ball, has much better court vision, is better defensively, is a better playmaker, and is better at controlling the tempo. You keep glossing over that Curry is far more turnover prone despite averaging less assists. That's a big damn deal.

That's why he's a 4 whopping points higher PER than Steph Curry despite having a much lower usage rate. CP3 getting swept had NOTHING to do with him. He generally played phenomenally except when he was injured and he was screwed due to crappy coaching (VDN) or just outmanned like when Marc Gasol and Z-Bo destroyed Griffin and Jordan.

Like I ****ing said, Curry is a better shooter only. CP3 is better from nearly EVERYWHERE from 15 feet to the rim. He generally shoots more and makes more than Curry. Curry is just the GOAT talent at 3 point shooting.

Again, is Allen Iverson a better offensive player than Magic Johnson?

Chris paul is still a better all around player, he can take over a game with his scoring if he needs to but he's a pass first pg so he chooses to get everyone else involved. The only thing Curry has over Paul is his shot at this point, CP3 is a better defender, better ball handler and passer, better rebounder, better leader, Steph is very young still so this is no shot at him, he's an absolute stud on the court and may very well pass Paul in the next season or two, but not yet. It kills the game but these vets are all on coast until the 2nd half of the season or the playoffs really. CP and Bron dudes like that have nothing left to prove in the regular season, Steph and Durant are really still building their legacy, CP can really only add to his legacy by winning a chip at this point.

Also, far too soon to crown Steph the best shooter in NBA history, he could have a career ending injury tomorrow and the potential the be the best shooter ever is far different from actually being the best shooter of all time.

Steph scores 5 more ppg, but turns it over 2 more times and has 2 less assists, CP3 makes up at least 4 of those pts on the extra assists and then an extra couple pts off the TOs too.

The same Curry they try to hide on D? Naw

Curry is probably my favorite player to watch. Gotta keep it real though

CP3 has been getting killed by his opponents for years
Only thing steph is better at is shooting, but CP3 and let's not act like he has a Rondo jumpshot either. .CP3 is still better overall than Curry

Because pretty much every metric stat available shows Chris Paul is better.

He averages more assists, less turnovers, is far better defensively, has better understanding of controlling pace and tempo, and pretty much turned the Clippers from a joke to a damn good franchise.

Curry is the better shooter and that's literally it.

Curry is better and he lets other teammates actually dribble the damn ball sometime.

CP3 is a ballhog

I don't think most people here know that CP3 was Curry's mentor before putting on a warriors Jersey
what does this have to do with anything?

Steph's turnovers are too high and he needs to improve as a defender. But his scoring ability puts him in the elite class regardless of these shortcomings. If he can fix those 2 issues, which are very fixable, he can surpass Paul, who I would still give a slight edge to.

That being said, I would still take Curry out of the 2 and I'm not basing it on age and moving forward, but in a vacuum just sheer take-over-a-gameability.
