All African kingdoms have been religious in some way.
The only areas, for the most part, that still practie some type of ancient African.. are in Muslim areas.... because it was only under islam that they were allowed. Look at sudan or any Muslim area.. u still have animal worshippers n shyt. Now look at Christian areas.
Actually the Christian areas are the parts of Africa where Africans were able to completely retain language and culture in addition to adopting Christianity. The differences are stark, but it also depends on the colonial nation but African nations colonised by Britain are far better off than those colonised by French and Portuguese. It was all a mind fukk, but since the British controlled 2/3 of the world back then, they didnt have time to fully indoctrinate people all over the world unlike the French who'd tell you to be French and abandon all your culture and traditions then turn around later and say youre an ape and cant be French. Even worse, is being a Muslim from a Francophone country, where you got doubly mentally fukked by both the French and Islam.
If you want to get a first hand account of Islamic damage in Africa, read the accounts of the South Sudanese who dealt with directly with Arabs and Islam and fought them off and lost millions of people and half their country in the process. You cant discuss the role of Islam in Africa properly living in America where its a romantic fantasy idea and youre not dealing directly or indirectly with these Arabs and their ways. You cant fukk around with this shyt, we're talking about people that committed genocide, stole African land, science and history then you want us to pray to them?
Get the handle from actual Black people who dealt with this shyt. Arabs showing up on your doorstep telling you your name is now Mohammed or some shyt, pray to their prophet and discard your culture and traditions then get shot for saying NO.
