Why are people so afraid to eat alone?

I used to eat alone but people felt some way about it at work and at school so I started eating with them.

I really like being by myself but people like the illusion of others liking their company so if I go I prefer be by myself thanks. They'll be offended.

Unless I'm eating some struggle meal I prepared for myself lol, eating out to me is a social thing. It's not that I'm afraid to eat alone, it's just that it would be boring cause there's no one to like share the food with, talk about how good (or bad) the food is, etc etc. Sharing a meal can be a really good bonding experience

You not the only only online where everybody is the cool, silent, type is this stuff promoted as the norm. Most people eat at times by their self but doing things like going out to a five star restaurant, big movies at night, etc are usually done with groups. If I see somebody doing it solo I don't give a fukk about them and I'm pretty sure most don't either but online you know cats gotta be on some somebody looked at me they just mad I do things different lol. Man them cats don't gaf about you keep doing your solo thing.

I have seen people sit in thier cars in the parking lot of their jobs on a nice day and eat instead of using an outdoor dining area that people walked past.

I don't mind going out and eating alone as long as it's a bar type atmosphere rather than a restaurant type one. I'll go out and treat myself to a steak or gourmet burger with a few pints of craft beer or fine bourbon every couple weeks. But I'll need a game to watch or something to hold my attention when I'm sitting at the bar. I'm not gonna sit at a two person table and stare at an empty chair while the waiter asks 'are you waiting for someone else?'

I go to movies by myself as well. Not sure why people act like they need someone else to have a good time.

Meh not a huge fan of eating outdoors...flies, bees n shyt out near the food

I like going to eat in a mall food court alone. If you peep a nice shorty eating alone you can just go "who sittin here" and plop right on down and start before she even answer


can't do a restaurant alone tho ...unless it's a lunch break
