relative to modern times europeans were illiterate, but relative to africa, literacy was widespread, the bulk of the european population was illiterate but the people that financed and led that european expansian werent illiterate, europeans had a writing system going back to the greeks and romans, west africa had no indigenous writing system

this gave the europeans a huge advantage

as far as disease, this is how I know you are lying when you say you read GGS, because in that book diamond clearly explains that while africa was conquered politically it was never populated by europeans the way the americas was, whites were always a small population in africa unlike in the americas, and the reason was because their diseases killed the indians but it did not kill africans and quite the opposite, african diseases killed europeans and that is why africa is still black and americas are majority white, if you had read the book you would know this

Rich countries produce and export goods and services and when done properly the profit improves the quality of life for the inhabitants of that country

For such a populous continent Africa isn't nearly productive enough and when they are the profits seen seem to dissipate being sucked up by foreigners and dirtbag leaders
