Yes but did they want him to WIN the Royal Rumble???

What happend when the person who the majority of the fans wanted to win the Royal Rumble...got eliminated? :mjpls:

Can't blame that on Roman though, they would've booed anyone they believed was going to take "Bryan's spot", even though it was never Bryan's spot because Vince was never going to book Bryan in the WM main event two years in a row.

Oh no one is blaming Roman...but Vince McMahon ain't reading 40,000 letters...he ain't reading 1,000,000+ tweets.

So you know how we let him know that we're not feeling his decisions?

That year? Hell yeah. But only because they didn't want Batista to win.

People act like the crowd just "randomly" turned on Reigns. Just like with Cena, they didn't just turn on Reigns because he got pushed. They turned on him because he also got lame.

When he was winning Survivor Series for his whole team by himself, or breaking Kane's record for most Rumble eliminations, he did it as the bad ass of The Shield. That edge he had then was lost after The Shield split up, and they never quite got it back. Since then, he's done corny promos even though he can't talk for shyt, he had to be saved by The Rock at this year's Rumble then just stood there all goofy like while his cousin took the spotlight, and he sat on the ropes for most of the Rumble not doing shyt, which was a far cry from the previous year.

While I agree with the bolded, he was still over when he came back. Then within a span of a couple of weeks when D.Bry came back, his reactions got weaker but they were still pretty strong. No boos tho. Then the Rumble hit and :scrai: well, you know.

My mistake...I meant this years Rumble

But it's funny that we bring up 2014 because it's another example of Vince pushing shyt that no one wants and then the people letting him know that they were not feeling it

Dudes didn't want Batista....they didn't necessarily want Reigns but it was the lesser of two evils

That pop he got at TLC was ridiculous. :wow:

Still can't believe they booked the Rumble as bad as they did. :snoop:

It seems to me that the smarks don't genuinely HATE Reigns. They just dislike him being pushed at the expense of D-Bry, which is understandable to a degree but unfair. It's all about the big picture.

Having Reigns in that scene helps elevate other guys. Bryan's gotten that title three times and has beaten Cena, Trips, Orton, and Batista for it in the main events of big PPV's.

Why is it that THAT doesn't equal "another Cena", but Reigns winning a few big matches and getting a shot does?

There was Austin and Rock, but there was also Foley, Trips, Taker, Kane, Jericho, Big Show, and Angle. They all elevated one another.

Basically. Unfair but true.

People loved Roman when he was in the shield. Even when they broke The Shield up he was still getting love.

Once the rumors came out that Vince wants him to be the guy, that's when everyone started to sour on him. Him being out for injuries didn't help. Ambrose for a short time getting more over during his absense didn't help and DBry coming back announcing he's back (In hindsight, I think he shouldn't of come back during that time) didn't help either.

I think the heat that's still on Roman is not because they hate Roman but more so to send a message to Vince. That's why I think if Roman go on a little heel run (and I think he would be a damn good heel) he can slowly win the crowd back overtime. Even Cena been down that road before.

Or maybe the crowd hate Rome is taking their girl :yeshrug:

Exactly.

People with that lame ass excuse, "They aren't booing Roman, they are booing the WWE." Why take your frustration out on a wrestler when you should take your frustration out on Vince McMahon and hurt his pockets? It makes no sense. You're not gaining nothing by booing a wrestler for doing their job. Not only did Roman get an ass whooping and got dominated by Brock Lesnar in the match, he got pinned by Seth Rollins. He got a double blow and his debut in a WM main event sucked for him. I mean what more do people want? It doesn't even matter at this point if Roman improved tremendously, people are hellbent on hating him regardless. smdh

At this point, they have no choice but to turn him heel. Hell might as well give the audience something to boo with their whiny asses.
:heh: Please. Had people not been "whiny" and booed the wackness of Blue Chip Prospect Rocky Maivia, there would be no Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as we know him. And without him, there'd be much fewer reasons to sign a hungry young buck named Joe Anoa'i, and we wouldn't even be having this discussion right now. Let the crowd cook, as long as it's within reason. And booing wrestlers, which is a reaction a lot of nikkas on the roster couldn't even dream of getting, is no big deal.

Again, I can't help but believe that Vince's product is so watered down that smarks can't take legit crowd hate anymore...

The funny thing about all of this is the fact that Reigns was clearly the most over member of The Shield when the group was still intact and smarks loved him back then. If you wanna talk about inconsistency and neckbeards neckbeardin', look no further than that.
He lost and didn't get the belt yet they are booing him for ???? Whatever his deficits are its like what do you want ? Wwe to cut the guy or something ? Instead of being happy rollins won they worried about reigns

Breh...people definitely booed him at the Rumble...the question is....at what point in the Rumble match. And we all know EXACTLY when the boos started :mjpls:

Also...him at Survivor Series? What bearing did that have on anything, let alone the WWE Title, which is supposed to be the ultimate prize for the current top guy in the company?

I'm not talkin about this year's Rumble. I'm talkin' about last year's Rumble when they were makin' Roman look strong like a muhfukka, and had him toss 11 people, and the whole crowd was cheering him, especially when it was down to him and Batista.

And again... the Survivor Series shyt... when WWE features someone in a match like that or the Rumble as the dominant factor, it shows they're keen on pushing that person.

They were making Roman look strong for months and nobody had an issue with it until late last year... when they already knew this guy was clearly being pushed in the direction of the main event scene.

All I'm sayin' is... ALL I'm sayin' is... be consistent :russ:

By the NXT chants i think its because they have a wealth of talent in NXT that they arent using and here comes a guy who was never in the indies and barely on the NXT show two months before he was called up being given the world and he isnt even that good on his own. From a fans perception, why should they get behind this guy over guys who the perceive as better than him? Because Vince wants them to?

On any show, if the director, which lets face it is Vince in this case, wants to make the viewing audience root for someone, they write to make them root for him. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesnt but the fans ultimately decide if they take to a character or show.

The WWE is an interactive show, therefore its not hard to imagine why the fans can and will boo someone they dont like.

The two worst things that happened to Reigns:

1) Punk's "Make Roman look strong" story on Cabana's podcast (a story based Punk describes a match where he actually went over The Shield (3-1) at TLC. Fan of Punk, but :francis:)
2) Dirt-sheets leading people to believe that he was hand-picked to BEAT Lesnar for the title and people running with it.

You can say what you want about a few of the promos (some were cheesy, some were pretty good), but once people got the idea in their heads that Roman was going to pin Brock for the belt, it was a wash. Another thing that didn't help (which I noticed in the 'Mania thread) is that a lot of cats have no clue how MITB works, so they never figured there was an alternative finish.

What I wonder is that if Reigns wasn't being given a push, how would they have wanted the timeline from the Rumble to 'Mania to work? If D-Bry had won the Royal Rumble and went on to get thrashed by Lesnar and cashed in on the same way, I'd guarantee that the tune would've been spun to, "They're burying D-Bry! They're using him to get a part-timer over. Seth Rollins is buddies with Triple H, so he gets preferential treatment." :mjcry:

In their minds Bryan would've never lost. In the build-up they complained about how Roman was gonna beat Lesnar with a punch and a spear as if Bryan beating Lesnar with a kick and a knee was going to look any more believable. Then they complain about how Roman didn't do anything in the WM match but take finishers and spam finishers, as if Bryan would've been booked any different.
