Yeah, just a difference of opinion. I respect yours.By the way, not advocating for catch and release or anything.
I'm saying the guy who showed a modicum of remorse should be hit with attempted vehicular hijacking and not say, felony murder for isntance.
Just my opinion, but I definitely get where you guys are coming from. It starts from petty theft and escalates to larcency and then m*rder etc.

Most of stuff you named has been around for a long time. Crime has started to rise in 2020Combination of things....
- Youth raising youth.
- Social engineering thru the music (drill, thot culture, etc).
- Social media, peer-pressure, decay of social norms
- Pandemic helped exacerbate the damage
- Not enough teen clubs, activities, etc to keep teens engaged, and occupied. Catch 22 tho, cuz these young nkkas would prali shoot those up too, SMH
Long story short...social media as played a psychological mindtrickfukk on all these younger MFers. Their mental is off, and this is coming from someone who has a 21 year-old, and raising a 17 year old now.

Facing Emergency, DC prepares to pass new crime bill
Facing 'emergency,' DC prepares to pass new crime bill Mayor Muriel Bowser backed the new legislation. July 10, 2023 Politicians in the nation's capital are expected on Tuesday to pass what is being called an emergency public safety bill to address rising crime rates in the city. Looks like DC is getting more serious about youth crime based on those new laws.It seems like the crime across the country among teenagers is skyrocketing and I have no idea why. When I was a teen all I wanted to do is get my license and hang out with my friends. What happened? What's going on with the young people?
Edited for anyone with their head in the clouds:
Juvenile Crime Surges, Reversing Long Decline. 'It's Just Kids Killing ... Juvenile Crime Surges, Reversing Long Decline. ‘It’s Just Kids Killing Kids.’
Maryland started a state wide program to help keep kids off the streets for the summer. It's a real issue. People ignore because don't want to deal with it but anyone with common sense can see it.Looks like DC is getting more serious about youth crime based on those new laws.
Which goes against all the shyt @murksiderock has spammed in this thread
What did I say that was factually untrue in here, or what did I say that was objectively or morally wrong?Looks like DC is getting more serious about youth crime based on those new laws.

The only solution is to separate criminals from the rest of societyYou can look at the population #'s in DC yourself
DCPS at a Glance: Enrollment | dcps
Enrollment The data below provides a brief overview of DCPS enrollment, demographics and schools. Enrollment by Gradedcps.dc.gov
About 19,000 students between the 6th grade and up.
70% black (call that 14k)
And probably 50% male - call that 7k
Out of those 7,000 boys, teens, and men - how many of those are kicking up dust? The typical black male teenager might have a little part time job, might be in a school activity, might be playing video games etc.
Most dudes ain't about that life, even if they live in the worst environments.
Maybe 700? Double it for all the boys that stopped going to school.
1,400 possible and actual hooligans. (And throw in the PG county and VA boys that come into the city)...
Most of these boys are gonna be concentrated in NE and SE, with some un-gentrified parts of NW and SW.
How do you address that population?
Whatever summer jobs program and "enrichment" type activities - is prolly gonna be populated by the kids NOT AT RISK.
How do you address this population that isn't interested in meeting with the assistant defensive coach from the Wizards?
How aren't interested in talking to off-duty white congressional staffers about "education"?
The parents and family have clearly already failed them.
All them whoopings didn't work.
The church and school systems have failed.
DC has plenty of parks and rec centers as is.
These boys jacking Uber drivers and flash mobbing stores in Georgetown are not interested in your African Centered Learning experience.
They're not interested in trade school opportunities.
How does the City Government address this very specific population of kids, teens, and young adults?
That's the question not being asked.
