Hey @cook just a question does the IP check thing you posted about actually account for bypasses such as VPN's and proxifiers?? I'd assume that the IP check wouldn't be able to tell if someone is using a proxy since that's the purpose of a proxy which makes it that the external IP address different from the actual IP from that users ISP. it's also how certain networks can get DDOS'd and can't filter actual IP's from dummy IP's.

I use a variety of methods to check things like that. I wouldn't solely rely on one of them. The users discussed here were not using proxies.

Despite the fact that this poster has been banned, what's to stop him (or anyone else like him) from sneaking his way back on to the site through fresh IP addresses?

if someone gets around the checks then thats when we rely on members to report them so we can investigate again.
