Why are you older than you are younger?

I don't think 30 is old, but when you constantly hear that, then you start to worry.

Tell me people on here haven't made threads about being 30 and what you should have in life or that you can't enjoy life and fukk hella bytches.

I respect everyone.

I'm gonna be 40 in a couple years; I don't feel old and I don't plan on having kids. I also don't feel the need to meet the expectations or clear the milestones society feels we should meet. People only feel some kind of way about age if they subscribe to the very narrow notion of what it means to succeed/live a fulfilled life.

I will forever do me, regardless of what someone else "expects" of me.

I cant front, in the United States people sure make it seem like it is and it tends to to affect us even tho we're telling ourselves it's not.

I think in our 20s we develop this perception of being in your 30s as being the point of no return when it comes to adulthood and that you should have a bunch of things (career, marriage, children) SET or in motion by then

Only reason age is even a conversation is because older people who didn’t do the things they wanted to do when they were younger, and are too lazy to take a risk now, try to project their own inadequacies on people younger than them.

Well for one Humans hit their natural "physical peak" way too early compared to life expectancy. Most people hit their physical peak from probably 18-25 and then live for 2-3 times as long

Cats (for example) probably hit their peak around 5-6 and live until 10-12... it's right in the middle.

Not that turning you 30 makes you automatically, but we have such a long gradual downhill that "youth" is really such a small part of our lives vs. an equal part of our lives (all willing )


I'm 31 headed on 32 this summer...just something new to embrace. If you hustle the right way you'll have more doors open in all aspects as you age into your early to mid 30s.
