Why aren't Jamaican Dancehall artists blowing up like spanish reggaeton artists have the past year?

I can't with the American accent, breh. The patois sounds better. I want dancehall from both of them, not much else. Also, Spice seems to have finally diversified her subject matter. She just needs to keep going and she might be a queen like Lady Saw.

It's not as a whole, but I'm talking about vibes. Plus, dancehall was the first genre that made me like electronic sounds in music, besides 70's music, so whenever I hear "rap" with electronic sounds, dancehall is what I compare it to. I remember rolling with dancehall heads bumping the shyt in rides, so all the sounds used in the music are in my head. And his style of chat is the same as nikkas I grew up with who would do it when we would puff. and start getting creative, so it reminds me of what i lived, I guess.

If the producer changed the drum rhythm, and popcaan's style was more aggressive, it would make the song sound more dancehall. Its little things that can make one song sound like another genre.

The Carribean is the same size as like Brooklyn and Queens, Latin America + some other countries around the world are like 2x US. And that garbage ass music is the only thing they have.

Other than that, we've seen Canadian, British and Bardbadian artists drop big songs that are heavily influenced like Drake, Rihanna, Tory Lanez, J Hus and more

No they're not. Cuba + Haiti + DR is bigger than the whole state of NY in Land area.

If the artists that were making reggaeton music 12-15 years ago are still making reggaeton music I have no idea

But the Latin trap artists that I’m familiar with weren’t around in the reggaeton days I don’t think

Dance hall is pretty successful even then, for some reason reggae and dancehall music punches above its weight internationally. It's just disfunctional and inconsistant as hell for the later.

Reggaeton is the poppin music for young Spanish speakers...just like rap is for English speakers.

this sounds like dancehall vocally w/ a HipPOP type beat. It doesn't sound like Trap though.
