Mrs 5000 watts on YouTube is pretty good. I'm pretty sure she streams on twitch too, mostly Destiny. I would say anyone can bust 50 kill games with a thorn or last word, but she's proven to be efficient with just about any gun through her A-Z weapons series.

Most don't even start like that at the ages that boys would start. Women treat games as either phases or something to get closer to guys. Even if it isn't the guys they're trying to date/be with, it'll be the guys in their family, their brothers or fathers/male role models or whatever. It's extremely rare to see a girl have their own genuine interest in gaming like that for long if none of those factors are in place. Even if it is, it just wanes quickly, as you stated, especially competitive style games.

women mostly play mobile and casual computer games like flappy bird and farmville. they're just not into console and hardcore PC games the way guys are. And yes, most women see gaming as an immature, childish activity. The ones that play competitively are on par with guys though.

1. the biggest reason is numbers. there are far less women playing games than guys. this is like 99% of the reason. it's like asking why there aren't any black/asian csgo pros.. because there aren't as many playing csgo. a game like chess has been around for farrrrrr longer than video games and it's still male dominated at the top. go down to the park and check out who's playing chess and it's generally men.
2. guys tend to like outright competition more than girls. guys are always trying to beat each other from an extremely early age. there is an aggression factor in games that caters to the male mindset. girls compete with each other in a very different way.
