What should he have done?

He was way to diplomatic and willing to compromise on damn near everything. Especially right after he just got into office. And started walking back damn near every campaign promise.

I remember him lecturing progressives about them always viewing the glass as half full. When they we're pushing him to make fundamental change while Dems still had complete control. I knew back then we would never get another opportunity like that again. Once he basically went along with the status quo. I knew the country was finished.

are you talking about how QUALIFIED IMMUNITY was strengthened for the cops by the democratic party while biden was in office and now QUALIFIED IMMUNITY WAS given to ICE under trump... maybe that's the correlation?!?!

Or how about the sheer HYPOCRISY that the white woman gets killed by ICE and we are seeing these politicians in real tie hustle their ass off fighting against them... but when black folks are killed unjustly, it's crickets... HYPOCRISY MUCH?!?!

My parents told me that before MLK Jr died, a lot of black folk stopped fukking with him. They were tired with how passive he was and felt his approach was way too soft and not radical enough.

Once he was assassinated, his martyrdom has somewhat swept that aspect of his legacy under the rug. That’s why he was trying to pivot his approach into a much more aggressive way before he was murdered, he saw the tide turning on him.

Immigrants mostly built coalitions with white people and excluded Black Americans. But now that they need us we're nowhere to be found. They would need to purposely try and build bridges with us but their two arrogant for that.

The US public in general has kind of soured on immigration after the Biden border debacle. Sentiment may swing back after the Trump ICE deportation overreach. But it would still require immigrants to stop being so insular. Which they probably aren't capable of doing.
