See, this is what the White man tells us, he convinces us that a man, particularly a Black man, is incapable of redemption and correcting his errors, that he will always be what he once was.
As Malcolm X famously said to a White male reporter about his past, “To have once been a criminal is no disgrace. To remain a criminal is the disgrace”.
Well, I'm here to say that to any Black man reading this, just as Malcolm X alluded to, one can be redeemed; it doesn't matter what you once were in your past, whether you were a criminal, a liar, a thief, etc. It does not define you as a person as long as you desire to live a life on the road of redemption, your past life does not define you.
See, the white man tries to convince us that someone who was once a crook is always a crook, once a thief is always a thief, and once a liar is always a liar, etc, etc. While he himself continues to live a life full of lies, hypocrisy, and thievery.
My past has nothing to do with me speaking the truth about this American system and what it continues to do for black people, which is nothing but continuing to inflict economic, mental, and physical harm on my people.
