It's intellectually dishonest to compare it to chattel slavery.

Its more intellectually honest to just label it as another system of exploitation.

Also, folks should just stick to sports talk. Anytime you add social and political dialogue into these discussions, folks expose themselves as c00ns, CACs and dumb asses.

A lot of truth in this post.

modern day athlete are often exploited by the system (yes you can be rich and exploited in some ways brehs) but seriously the word slavery in the argument is always terrible to use

Exactly, and i think we all would agree athletes are exploited at times, especially at the college level.

This whole topic is a great example of why people should choose words carefully, because if you're misusing a word it makes you look very unintelligent

Nope.

That's a true insult to slaves.

I hate these arguments.

One has a choice, the other didn't.

So :camby:

EXPLOITATION is the better word

We are still considered slaves under the system of racism white supremacy.

Collectively blacks do have have another choice but to depend on the system that is controlled and ran by whites.

Thus modern day slavery which affects all 9 areas of activity.

1. Economics
2. Education
3. Entertainment
4. Labor
5. Law
6. Politics
7. Religion
8. Sex
9. War/Counter-War

Judging from the responses I see most people do not understand Racism/White Supremacy and how it works.

Once you do not understand what it is and how it works, everything else will only confuse you.

Slaves didnt get to go retire, f@ggot. :stopitslime:

I hate when mofos compare millionaires to slaves. No wonder you have mofos walking around saying "slavery wasnt that bad"

Where exactly are you from? Do trolls call people fakkits on the internet?

Anyhow, I do not know who you are or where you are from but I am a black man in Miami Gardens who knows and understands Racism White Supremacy in which I am a victim of.

So this topic stems from that perspective.

That's good to know.

Anyhow, people who do not agree with the term that Modern Day Black Athletes or specifically boxers cannot be Slaves under the system of White Supremacy.

Simply do not understand how White Supremacy works.

I've said this before and I will say it again:

The system of Racism/White Supremacy is the most powerfulest form of modern day slavery on this planet.

Slavery by definition is simply a condition or a system of being in bondage.

I.E You can be a slave by using drugs in which controls the state of your well being.

Doggy, these mofos make millions and can retire and take their money with them anywhere in the world. Everyday clones like you and I who work a 9-5 are more "slaves" than they ever will be. THEY have far more options than us or slaves ever did. I particularly take offense to the constant comparison of modern day millionaires to african families who were torn apart and enslaved. OUr ancestors didnt fight agents and networks for the right to get their piece of the billion dollar sports business. They fought to stop seeing their fukkin kids get sold to other plantations and watch their wives get fukked by slave masters.

I know you clones like to distinguash the sh!t by just throwing the word "modern day" in there to cover your ass but i still say using that word slavery to describe millionaires is a lack of respect to those that suffered paving the way for us. If my ancestors in Haiti knew modern day slaves would have hummers and whote b!tchs giving them hummers for their money we would have stood pat and let the French f@ggots continue to brutalize us.Thats all im gonna say.

i'm not a clone at all. Like I said i reside in Miami Gardens FL. A proud black man who acknowledges that I am a victim of racism white supremacy.

You from Haiti right? My wife is from Haiti also who acknowledges the same sentiments I feel as well.

Anyhow, Like I said in another post, Slavery by definition is a condition or a system of being in bondage.

Are black people in bondage today? Yes

Do black people run or control a system to mistreat people based off color? Absolutely not.

Equating boxing to slavery is a stretch. Boxing is like the most individualized sport there is. You aer practically FREE to do whatever you want to do. You control your own career without the influence of anyone you don't want there.
