The Power structure of White Supremacy and its sidekick: the feminist agenda are 2 things you may want to look at first

the feminist agenda which help divide the black family structure...the force behind women saying stuff like " i dont need no man" "im independent" that agenda was deceptively put into place to keep us at the bottom....alot of women today are still under this mind control....

white supremacy the feminist agenda and the homosexual agenda all go hand in hand....

ask yourself why a heterosexual black man ...cant publicly voice his disagreement with homosexuality or just say " i dont want gays in my locker room" without being crucified....

It's not irreverent. Some of the most successful and educated people in America listen to the music and love the culture u consider a major factor in suppressing success.

i wasnt saying that listening to music will suppress success, what i said is that rap music promotes the worst aspects of black culture and on top of that its controlled by people who arent black and who are not interested in uplifting black culture

and i also i separate hip hop culture from rap music, hip hop is urban culture and includes several art forms, one of those art forms it includes is rap, but rap has become demon possessed literately and figuratively

my point isnt that if you listen to rap music you will not succeed at life, my point is that the future of cultures, nations and communities are dictated mostly by culture and black people are not any different, and rap, which is mostly controlled by corporate entities is not helping uplift the culture

And I don't feel the need to "keep it hood". Most 'hood' nikka would never guess that there isn't too much that they do, that I haven't done x5. I don't even live in the hood, or do hood shyt since I was a kid... I'm just saying I also don't isolate hood nikkas or hood children. Black American culture is diverse and complex.. There are black people in corporate America that would have you (not me) shocked at some of the things they may say outside that environment.

There are things about our culture that we do need to get rid of, I haven't seen you mention any of those...... you only speak from this mentality that reminds me of some black elitist who is disgusted w urban culture - Not realizing that every successful group of people has ignorant parallels to their own culture and also can produce success.

Im problack so of course.. I know successful old heads. They say the same thing as you... "these young folk blah blah" Same muthfackas responsible for misleading the last 3 generations. At the same time I know 30 year old cats that have contributed more to our youth than these muthfauckas that do nothing but 'lecture' and isolate "hood nikkas and children" about cultural differences.

I cringe when I see brothas w pants around their knees.. but I would rather help them get certs than to press them about saying 'watupdoe nikka'. As long as they can learn to speak professional in the workplace it's all good. If they can't they probably are too lost or too old to change. I don't know too many young people of any race than can't adapt if given the right chance.

you can interpret it that way, looking back i am realizing that delores tucker was right, so i definitely side with old folks, i am definitely disgusted by certain things i see and i think there has to be a change in the culture, so i speak on it

i dont go around preaching to people but if the issue comes up as it does in this message board i state my opinion, i am a student of black history and a student of hip hop culture and i think i can see where we went right and where went wrong, and i think its essentially a lie to to tell people that it doesnt matter how you talk or dress, or what you call yourself and it doesnt matter what your vocabulary is or how you do in school etc etc

theres certain segments of the black population that need to step up and take responsibility:

1) religious institutions

yeah yeah theres alot of corruption etc within these organizations but man, considering how many churches there are, do they not offer breakfast programs, extra curricular activities, cultural/heritage events and lessons? they need to be that extra parent that some of these households lack ("it takes a village to raise a child")

2) successfull rich black folks

could you imagine if some of these rappers, atheletes, entertainers, entreprenuers actually put their wealth together and created venture capital firms or credit unions that specifically focused on the black community?
imagine the benefit of providing loans for schools, busnesses, homes etc

Why do people love to tell other people what to do with their money...
Why don't you call up every black person you know or call up all your coworkers right now, quit your jobs, pool your money together start a business. nothing stopping you.

You talk as if every person with money knows and trust each other. A business is like a marriage. You don't enter in those agreements lightly or just with anyone.

And we did run the world for a very long time actually...now we dont and our rulers :cac: are like our children some bad azz tyrannical children but thats how i see it...so at the end of the day we been there and done that...our people may or may not ever get back to where we were in terms of world control...so that shouldn't be our focus...we should look within to the source of unlimited potential power (spirituality)

Yet we are distracted. ...

you break the cycle by admitting that this isnt the REASON WHY. its a symptom of the illness.

the illness is racism placed on our backs. that caused us to stop supporting one another.

and racism isnt just "blacks over there and whites over here." it changed. to trying to steer people of color(especially black folks) in a direction where they wont be successful as a community. but some will strive to be successful as individuals.

Zoe talking that we are the world sillyness. while her white boyfriend is making sure he marry's a white chick. so he and her can keep the WHITE bloodline going.

but that all stems from the cism. making us hate ourselves, retarding us, etc.

They say if you dont know your history your doomed to repeat it. People who as stupid questions like the OP must have slept through American history. Racism is so pervasive in America that it has become a way of life. Blacks are becoming 2nd class citizens all over again.

yeah, hip hop is were it all went wrong.... ok brotha. We had negative aspects since pre constructions... it's a cycle.

lets see..Delores Tucker. She was ok... but she helped form a pro abortion group for black woman - idk how i feel about that. I do think rap music is misogynistic at times.... but this lady was acting like that started with gangsta rap. You say D tucker had it right. I say KRS One had it right..

Everywhere I look there's another house negro
Talkin about they people and how they should be equal

They talkin but the conversation ain't goin nowhere
You can't diss hip-hop, so don't you even go there
C. Delores Tucker, you wanna quote the scripture
Everytime you hear nikka, listen up sista

I met up with this girl named Delores, a prankster
I said I MC, she said, "You're a gangster"
But she was caught up, she hit the floor like a breakdance
Wrapped her up like the arms in a b-boy stance
Recognize moms I'm one of your sons I'm hip-hop
In the form of Channel Live and KRS-One
Representin MC's across America
She said, "You're the one who be causin all that mass hysteria"

Wisdom shall come out of the mouths of babes and sucklings
But you blinded by cultural ignorance and steady judging
But judge not, lest ye may be judged
For the judgment ye judge ye shall surely be judged, you gets no love

She said, "I like it, that's why I jock it"
Then I said, "You only on my back because I fill brother's pockets"
Got em drivin Benzes Jeeps and Rolls Royces
Attackin me will leave youth with no voices
The choice is yours not mine hang with me
I'll have you freestyle and bombin graffiti
We can cut it up like like wax
Claimin I cause violence but America was violent before rap, FACT

i think krs is still right when it comes to hip hop culture, which was edutainment and a platform for people in the ghetto to address issues and express themselves, but i think he was wrong over the long run as one element of hiphop, rap music, became entertainment and became a way for corporate america to entertain the general public

like i said im a student of hip hop culture and a follower of krs one, but over the long run delores tucker was right in saying that if its not positive its not worthy of black people

rap music as edutainment and as an artform is worth defending, rap music as entertainment for the general public is garbage and worthless

you are right in one part, i am most definitely an elitist, and i think its time to filter things, those whole notion that whatever the fuk corporate america puts out and calls hip hop that we have to accept and call it black culture is bogus

i'm always late to the party :why: i'll read back through after i post, but i feel like although ol' dude in the video was talking about black business in the video, he really meant black community. that's the bigger issue. and something i find myself really concentrated on. we have to learn how to become better united as communities, its what separates us from immigrants coming into this country.

jews have an incredible sense of community... asians, irish, etc, but we were all jumbled together through slavery. different cultures and shyt. and once slavery was abolished, th problem was compounded through the great migration-- black folk trying to escape persecution/racism only to find other black people different from them (alabama and mississippi to chicago, nyc, etc). our experience is virtually unlike anything ever seen on the planet. if you think about it, tribalism is pretty much synonymous with gang culture, so no wonder why we're in our current state. we've never had the chance to view each other as one.-- unlike those coming from their own countries with like minded/looking people where persecution and hostility is absent.

its a difficult task with the world becoming more progressive (which is something i'm for) but we have to come more community minded. the dude down the street isn't just a "nikka", but your brother-- identify with him through color above all else and build on THAT. not what 'set' he claims, what street he's from, etc. that's where business comes in, revitalizing communities to make them more beautiful/safer, in our control, etc. altruism is rare among us though... in time, i'll do what i can (personally) to change that.
