I can't imagine the cable companies ever getting to REAL 4k delivery when they can't even handle HD. And even if 4k content is on the net, what is going to happen to all the data caps like with Comcast broadband?
Add to that when you have a bigger TV, and sit 10 feet from it, the average person isn't going to be able to tell the difference. At a certain distance, your eye won't register a major difference. Up close it will look better.....on other devices....and people who are sensitive to color levels etc.
I myself am pretty sensitive to picture quality, but I'll mention something and no one else sees it or even gets what I'm talking about...a color level or a slight sync issue etc.
I wonder if there is going to be a market for 4k discs and players, or is that going to be such a minor slice of the market that it won't take off or they won't even bother to try. Only the hardcore would be into it I guess as everything is about streaming and downloading.

man, we still waiting for 1080p broadcast to be come the standard. they are putting the cart before the horse with 4K.

I finally saw 1 in person at Walmart
They had a demo where one side was HD and the other was UHD
No difference on a 50" screen 5' away
I still want to see what it does for photo editing... mite be good for a computer, but def not for watching a damn 720P broadcast

Why not when the price is steadily falling? 4k cameras will be hitting the market soon, Netflix is starting to offer TV shows and movies in 4k, Blu-rays etc. If you're into PC gaming then you'll definitely be doing that at an affordable price soon as well.

You're up here trying to have a measuring contest about money and the quality of high-definition, and yet you're using Youtube as a barometer of sorts for 4K?
Youtube's "high-definition" is nothing to write home about. None of it.
You just got 4K to say you got 4K, but nobody's impressed right now because hardly anything is using 4K.

a) how do you compare 4k to 3d? they have 3d channels and 3d content in damn near every action movie being released.
b) 1080p is worth it, for alot of reasons, video games, movies, and as you said netflix. so im not sure what you're talking about. oh you also dont need a ps4 to see 1080p.
