Make a thread about people pronouncing it wrong, and then proceed to pronounce it wrong when you correct people :dahell:

Its Porsch-ah, so toss yourself into the same group you're dissing OP :camby:

It's not Porsch-eh lol
It's porsch-ah

0:06 German Speaker.

I've been to Germany and the Germans say Porsch-eh.

The German way to say it would be more like Porsh-eh with the emphasis on the first syllable. It's a German family name, so there is actually a correct way to pronounce it

Based on this video are you saying that the Germans are saying their own word wrong? :jbhmm:

@The Wave

They are saying porsch-ah in that video too... am I missing something. :dahell:

eh sound is like = "eh, I don't think that's a good idea"

I'm not hearing a porsch-eh anywhere breh

Here, let me use better phonetics.

Are you hearing "por-shuh" or are you heaing "porsh-eh"

I'm hearing por-shuh

Do you pronounce Germany "Deutschland" or Munich "München"? :sas1:

If no, then you have no leg to stand on.

Let's go back to secondary school for a moment.

Slowly pronounce the word Por-sheh. Not Porsch, nor Porshe-ah

Even the video discription of that video say Porsche, in German, is pronounced with the subtle "eh", not "uh" at the end.

Fine, lets be technical since you want to go there.

The proper phonetic is porsh-ə
the upside down e is called a schwa.

Its a center vowel that does not equate directly to any vowels that we have in the English language. The closest thing would be the sound that the u makes in the word "putt".

I don't see where you're getting the eh sound from breh

I really truly don't
