Why Couldn't Kyrie Have Had A Brunson Type Career?

Kyrie is a more skilled individual player but is clearly not a pure leader like that. His stints in Boston and Brooklyn more or less prove this. If Brunson were in those same scenarios he likely would've behaved differently and not be an off-court distraction.

Kyrie is a GOAT-tier co-star tho and that's where he shines best and has accomplished the most. Nothing wrong with that at all. He's not exactly hurting for legacy or accolades :skip:

his stint with the Celtics was supposed to be his version of Brunson on the Knicks …I’ll have to revisit why it failed, but that’s the answer to the OP’s question

He was surrounded by young players :dahell:

Why are yall acting like the Tatum & Brown he played with back then are the same players they are today

Eh, JB and JT were young as hell. I think their rookie and sophomore years.

Brunson is starting next to KAT, OG, Miles, and Hart who are all in their primes.

Kyrie has never done anything as a #1 option, literally the only difference between him and Brunson and the only thing that really matters when you're comparing the two.

Brunson is a better floor general and high-level orchestrator.

Brunson can point to where the entire team has to be to attack a defense or get an open look whereas Kyrie’s assists are more attack a defense/drive and kick variations. Brunson understands the more wholistic/team game and Kyrie the more individualistic one.
