aftermath was a flop for years until they put out eminem and became a suburban staple.

sure they signed 50 but he was already established. and they had to port Game to g-unit for him to blow up.

the rest of them dudes were . dre's album included.

ok...Now with that said....Did Death Row ever have a recovery moment??? Nope.....Death Row's last breath was unreleased Tupac material....Dre had to re establish himself afterleaving The Row......and tho it took a few years he finally did. Death Row on the other hand never recovered from Dre's departure.........Lets not forget how weak Snoops 2nd album was without Dre's involvement. Do u remember that trash version of the Chronic 2000 Death Row released in 1999? Can u imagine the level Death Row would have reached had Chronic 2001 been released on Death Row?? That album was Hip Hop's introduction to the new millinium.

Death Row got heavily blackballed. Crooked I album should've came out on on Tha Row and brought the West back earlier.

hard to recover when suge was locked up for years and blackballed into oblivion.

snoop been weak since '96. with or without dre.

dr dre 2001 was just a bunch of hype. album was for desperate west coasters, white folks and cornball niccas. signing 50 cent was their ticket to cultural relevance, but it didnt take long until he fell off into that paco jeans-sporting listeners realm his dam self.

Cant agree with you do to the success of Pacs post death albums. Plus when Kurupt finally dropped his album in 04..No one cared.

Suge going to prison had nothing to do with Death Rows falling off...It was always Dre's talent and what he brought to the table not being oinvolved that was The Row's fall off point.

Suge was overhyped after coming out of prison...Dude recruited Left Eye, Brought Kurupt back plus had some new blood in Crooked I. Yet The Row never took off because Suge didnt have the knack for executing the talent like Dre did. Does anyone even remember Kurupts album he dropped in 04?? I do.....Suge couldnt live up to the hype because thats all he was..Hype. His job was being the bodyguard////Thatsd what he was good at....Not executing the talent, that was Dre's job.

.

2pac gonna sell regardless especially at that time with that material people so eagerly anticipated.
The bolded proves my point Death Row were blackballed to the point it didn't matter anymore how hot the music was.

i didnt even know those posthumous pac albums were on death row. there goes that.

dr dre wasnt even involved with half of death row's legendary stuff. he had no involvement with "above the rim" at all. and thats the goat soundtrack. yet suge was executive producer. and man, dre produced like a grand total of 3 songs for pac.

youre under-valuing the role of the mogul. same way rocafella went to chit the second that dame dash left. and beans was bigger than he ever was when he was on DDMG. go figure.

It wasn't a complete collapse. Remember, Daz's first album debuted at #8 with really no promotion. They could have maintained if Suge would have left some people in place who knew what they were doing. Despite the blowback towards gangsta rap and the rise of the jiggy era, there was still a demand for hard sh*t. People were settling on a lesser product in No Limit.

2 many things wrong with your statement

Dre was involved with Above The Rim, All Eyes On Me and everything up until he left because he was an owner of Death Row. SMH. Also, Dre gave 2pac his biggest hit single (California Love). Pac never had a billboard #1 till he got on a Dre track......And Pac never saw another number #1 single since.
