They got it on humble bundle rn for a dollar :ehh: I already own it though, it's fun but the story is wack like folks already mentioned

Game wasn't bad gameplay wise, but it was inferior to DMC3 and 4 in every single way.

Notice how Capcom released DMC4 remastered with some new additions a little while after :pachaha:

Gives me a hope for a true DMC sequel in the future :blessed:

It was an unnecessary reboot outsourced by a western team that made ok games at best, running at 30 fps, with no lock on and color coated enemies you had to use specific weapons on.

And dont get me started on the characters.:hhh:
A lot of this was fixed in the XB1/PS4 Definitive Edition. That is an excellent game. Idgaf what anyone says

It was good, but easy as fukk on the hardest difficulty you could choose out the gate, compared to DMC 3/4.

coming from someone who LOVES DMC3 & 4, DmC reboot is a great devil may cry title and should be in the pantheon of great action games, period.

gameplay is arguably deeper than bayonetta 1 & 2 and virtually much every other platinum game. when it comes to pure combat depth, I'd only put DMC 3 & 4 above it.

the way everyone hated on this game I was expecting some simplistic, casual bullshyt, but nah it's legit!



Because it's far less technically impressive than DMC 3 and 4. It's much easier, I don't even need to jump cancel to stay in the air, shyt is so simple.

I actually really like the game though.

I actually really like the game though.

I don't know why that's necessarily a bad thing. DMC4 Dante was really complicated, overly so imo. shyt like guard flying was really hard to do consistently. I get that hardcore gamerz like a learning curve, but DMC4 Dante was...too much.

Because a proper skill gap is ok. It's still pretty easy to get through the normal difficulties without using jump cancels, RG JUST RELEASES, etc.

But skilled players could improvise and do things that set them apart. More complexity and depth in the combat system means more option and longevity.

Keeping airborne with combos was a measure of skill, I can stay airborne in DmC with my eyes closed.

It's a good game. The definitive edition is a great game. It's just pretty damn shallow when compared to the other games in the series so it gets beat up. Hell, Nero had more complexity even with one weapon simply due to his revved up engine sword and use of Devil Bringer
