whether you like or agree with Minister Farrakhan, the question that everyone needs to ask is what impact has NOI had on Black America, individually and as a whole since Malcolm and maybe you would be able to think rationally about everything that transpired. NOI was an important chapter in my life and while since that time there have been things I totally disagree with certain things cannot be denied. The emotional attachment to one situation should not discredit everything positive that happened beyond that yet it seems that has been the narrative that many try to push based on the "he killed Malcolm" rhetoric

I don't think Farrakhan was the 1 to plot the murder or carry it out at all, it was an issue he had with Malcolm due to Elijah that made him hostile. I don't agree with everything he says at all but I can understand it. Farrakhan had in the past spoke to and embraced some of the rappers too and tried to create peace with some of the beefs, F.O.I also did mad security for mad rappers. Some of these things play a role. Farrakhan quite widely respected, from Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Cormega, a lot of the rappers. Another issue may be fear, are very powerful and wabt to be on his good side. I get both view points....

In my eyes, he is the ring leader of Malcolms murder.

Praising the murderers.. wasnt no coming back from that.
i can answer this because i attended this summit, the reason that why hip hop embrace him is because the good minister was never phony to none of the artist you see. the good minister never put on a performance to impress the hip hop community. the Malcolm your thinking about is not the one that set the world on it's ear. the Malcolm that we love stayed in mecca and never came back. the malcom that was murdered here in ny was a completely different man

Because Farakahn is an agent...who also happens to be the most powerful black man you can probably see with your own two eyes. He's ALLOWED that power though. Real threats are wiped out/neutralized. The fact that he's in plain sight lets you know what time it is. Doesn't make him any less of an alluring figure though.

Because he knew too much and wasn't afraid to stand on his square. If the NOI was making moves with the government and KKK back then, the fukk you think their relationship is now?

He talked to much

He talked to much

It is what it is.

The brightest light casts the darkest shadows...you take a young thug nikka an turn him into a man of conviction, don't expect him to move with fear and cowardice when he finds out that everythang ain't everythang. He knew what the consequences were for standing on his square, he moved forward and got his issue.

He's embraced because people LISTEN to him. Him having a musical background doesn't hurt either. He's also probably the last voice from that era that both understands the struggle and preaches empowerment.

Now I don't like whatever role he played in Malcolm X's assassination. At the same time, Malcolm stated that he was marked for death by these brothers. As a Muslim, he knew that a kill order couldn't be talen back and he trained them.

I think Malcolm X was assassinated for a couple of reasons:

1) he spoke ill of JFK's assassination "I never cried when the chickens came home to roost", which brought heat to the nation. He was silenced for a period over this one.

2) He outed Elijah Muhammad's inconsistencies

There were still things that the Nation did that I don't necessarily agree with. One of them is that something happened to one of Malcom X's brothers. He was excommunicated and Malcolm states that he went mad and it was all chalked up to "Allah burned his brain".

Cointelpro played a huge role in all that shyt anyways but truth is, Farrakhan never had anything to do with his death. What happened to Malcom was unfortunate but it is absolutely not a deal breaker for me. They've done plenty of things that more than make up for that. Malcom murder was greenlit by one nikka anyways. And the nikkas who killed would have murdered literally anyone the leader back then told them to. N.O.I. is still the only black group worth a damn post black Panthers. Let me know when you find a replacement.
