Still can't believe they put in a POV camera view on top of everything else. They wanted to assassinate EA for good :wow:

ESPN
Sportscenter
Chris Berman
Halftime/Post-Game shows
Around The League Segment
POV Camera
Interviews With Audio

EA has to be ashamed they can't duplicate this 15 years later :snoop: If I was the CEO of EA and I got a run down of 2K5, all the management teams on Madden getting fired on the spot.
Forgot all about the POV... VR football :banderas:

and the interviews

man fukk EA :damn:

I did see one interview though with a Madden Dev. He said flat out, they read forums, they aren't dumb, they know how loved 2k5 is. They've tried to copy the sportscenter/around the league thing. But 2k5 was fake, in their eyes

2k5 sportscenter and around the league, was canned animations, that wasn't actually from any game being played. So dude said, yea we can do that too, but it's 2018. People gonna pick that shyt apart.

The problem, is that, they can't figure out how to make REAL highlights, from simmed games, that haven't been played yet or weren't actually played by another human. You don't want to see a TD on sportscenter for 60 yards, then check the stats and the receiver only had 20 yards that game

They completely and utterly DESTROYED NBA Live... Madden knew what was coming next with that $20 and the ESPN sportscenter in game.

I mean we look at Live now..... But back then.. They had that shyt on lock.. since Bulls vs Lakers on damn 16 bit systems. Soon as 2k came with Iverson on the cover. Completely gone from the market. Tried to come back years later, still ain't shyt. This is a company with a 10 year plus head start, endless money, and still, couldn't do shyt

They was not gonna let Madden go down. Next, they'd come for soccer or some other shyt. EA and the NFL nixed that shyt with the quickness

EA the corporation was scared shytless that their bread and butter, Madden, would be ripped apart and would be downsized greatly.

2K5 was the better game
It dropped cheaper
EA got exclusive NFL right for 10 years.

That last one just didn’t sit right with gamers at the time 2015 was like are you shytting me. Back then we that was seen as rediculous for them to not have competeting sports games. Today mother fukkers would make meme with the troll face calling them selves EA hive or some shyt.

fukk EA till I get Fight Night Champion 2

I don't what it is about Madden, but even to this day... Madden shytty animation and loose controls makes it impossible for me to get immersed. It feels like you get sucked into people when running the ball. 2K5 felt sooo fluid and tight mechanically. There was no black hole animation where you get sucked into players.

Just watch a game and see the animations.

2K was awesome but I enjoyed Madden's franchise mode more. I know I'm in the minority with that perspective. In 2K, nothing ever changes. Coaches, playbooks, jerseys, stadiums all stay they same.

Owner mode in Madden allowed you and the CPU to relocate teams, create new jerseys, fire and hire head coaches as well as Off/Def/Special teams coordinators, build new stadiums, hire retired players as coaches, players hold out, players demand trades, players refuse contracts due to low morale, win/loss records affect team prestige which affect free agency. I can keep going but you get the idea. Franchise mode after ten years in Madden is different compared to ten years in 2K. And that helped keep franchise mode relatively fresh.

I always thought the perfect game would be a combination of 2K's gameplay/presentation and Madden's franchise mode.

One low key thing I loved about 2K5 (and maybe this is more about the system of the OG Xbox than the game.... as I never figured out how to do it on the 360 and One)

I loved how you could burn a cd on the hard drive and create your on stadium track.

So like back then..... No Limit (though on they last legs) was still kinda popping and I was still a fan of that old “bounce” south rap like Drama, Miracle and various other artist I discovered off DownSouth.com.

I used to have a bunch of No Limit song play during random shyt (turnovers, TDs, end of quarters, first downs, etc) and it used to annoy the fukk out of certain cats in my crew that hated No Limit and was Cash Money stans:russ:

Like you can still from what I see do that to a degree with some current sports games but have to use their soundtracks

*** trucking someone for a First Down then “Move bytch” starts to play:mjlol:

I did a lot of trollery shyt with the music:lolbron:

I don’t know when you last played madden, but about 95% of what you listed is no longer in franchise mode

Damn shame what happened to madden

I was describing the PS2 era Madden games. I stopped messing with Madden after that. Hell, from time to time, I'll break out them out just to mess around in franchise mode.

Because it was cheaper and had realistic NFL presentation.plus first lerson mode

Still it got repetitive and madden 05 was the better game. 2k5 felt more arcadey than simulator
