Why did DMX,Game, T.I. , Nas, etc become unpopular? it's because nothing last forever. Nobody is selling like they use to.. Where's Camron? in rap you basically have a 5 year run.. 50 is from the Nelly generation and they did huge numbers which means when they do like everyone else, they fell off.

I think 50 ruined it for himself to be honest. The ja and murder inc. beef was legit but he mad it a point to beef with anyone who hand a decent following and to me that what killed him, he lost that hunger that defined him. He was the perfect rise to fame against all odds story which made his buzz so strong and was talented. But as time progress he became infatuated with being a bully to the point people got tired he even went at his own dre. I.e game and buck. It became less about good music and more about a story line

Rap is full of good guys, 50 cent is the villain :blessed:
Is it ? Pac wasn't a good guy . Hov came at a lot of ny rappers. Tip cause a issue with the whole king of the south claim. Wayne with best rapper alive. The issue comes when you don't back it up with good music. 50 had that at one point not just good music but debatable Classic music once it started leaving more to be desired and he was still waging war and putting out iffy music is when the irrelevance began

Curtis was so dope. 50 did what Jay and Nas didn't tho and shot back tho (yeah, yeah, they Nas and Jay both threw sublims but 50 tried to go toe to toe with a dude who was known for this fukkery). The Funeral was dope as fukk. He just unlucky Cam is a master of this ish. He did the usual 50 thing and made a fool of cam off wax, same way he did to Ross though.

Jada and Joe dissed 50 on a track with Ja. No wonder he replied......

How did he bait Cam into the beef? Cam called him and used a KOCH exec to get on air with 50. Didn't he? (50 barking on that dude alan is still comedy)

Throwing rocks at Jay and Diddy? they still got on a track with him. What have either of them done for NYC unity? 50 was popping in the streets of NY and they both ignored him because Irv wanted him black balled. If they were for NY hip hop they would have helped him and not continued his status as a blackballed artist, correct?

How you blaming 50 for Jim Jones etc? He's Cams artist, his Capo. But 50 is responsible for Jim Jones?

Nas dissed 50 first too at a concert. I was even at "I don't fukk with that 50 cent bullshyt" and was in talks to sign with Murder Inc at the height of the beef.

You just hatin breh. 50 didn't kill NY Hip hop. Every artist you listed threw shade, usually first at 50 and none of them helped him when he was being black balled so why would he help them when he got on top?

Nas took him out on tour when nikkas wasn't fukking with him

fifty started the shyt with jada and fat joe by opening his mouth commenting on everything walking...

he complained of Jada's relationship with Ja Rule just like Joe's during the NY joint...

he has since admitted that anybody standing next to his enemy was his enemy which are street rules...

he never had an actual beef with either of them which is how it got squashed eventually Jada faster than Joe obviously...

he killed NY hip hop by:

dissing anybody near Ja

putting the battery in Mobb Deep's back to diss Nas as well as poking at him himself

constantly throwing rocks at Jay and Diddy

baiting Cam into beef(which helped split Dipset with Jimmy's grimeyness)

besides those things there are plenty more but the biggest thing is he made NY extremely disrespectful, birthing rappers like Jim Jones, Maino and Troy Ave who wanna bully their way into the game...

blah blah blah...

dblock dissed 50 1st n dissed him quite a few times b4 piggy bank

He had a great run, but he didn't want to come to grips that he was never going to duplicate that. Going diamond in each of his first two albums is a he'll of an accomplishment. But he started to rely too much on soundscans for his Buzz and it eventually backfired.

He still can put out some decent joints but he set the bar too high based on his early success :yeshrug:

A combination of things.

First of all, he didn't drop anything else close to the caliber of GRODT afterwards. He had some nice joints but nothing on that level. So when you have to live up to that project, people will say you "fell off". Secondly, the times changing and becoming more feminine. When people started dressing like herbs in 07-08 he was still rocking baggy tees, jorts, and fitted caps. Third, you have oversaturation. In the span of 03 to 05 you had Fifty with GRODT, the G-Unit album, The Game album, The massacre, the GRODT movie, etc. He was everywhere too much. Fourth, you had a lot of "Real hip hop heads" back then. A lot more than now. People in the core hip hop community didn't appreciate 50's not-so-great lyricism and mainstream style of rapping. For some reason people love that shyt now but back then they didn't let it fly.

Fif's rise to stardom was the perfect storm that Interscope created. Fif's fall to disaster was the perfect failure he created. Fif came out when people were tired of Ja Rule and used the last bit of gangsta rap when it was still trendy in white America. Post-Massacare, he fukked up by beefing with Game, Nas, Jada, Cam, etc., he shytted on the south when they took over, he shytted on Kanye and Hov for doing their thing, and he even went at Iovine.

That shyt is why NY needs to get out of ASAP and make good young artists again. Playing the new version of Suge Knight ain't gonna get you anything but a jail sentence and being blackballed.
