Funny the 5% never hit it big in Philly. And is probably THEE most islamic city in American as far as Black people are concerned. If you come to Philly talking about you're a 5%then you'll have problems with the Sunni's.

Philly never took outside influence at all till this day. Malcolm X hated Philly when he use to live here because the Muslim brothers here hided behind crime (original black mafia) and the people of higher authority but didn't care.

His mistake was to criticize the NOI cult leader Elijah Muhammad. The NOI was clearly the cult of Elijah Muhammad, and people who joined his nation of Islam were pledging allegiance to him, as the supreme leader of the nation. Malcolm was in violation of the laws of the Nation and was dealt with based upon the rules of that society. Its unfortunate, but that's what happens when you join cults, leave the fold, and\or attempt to criticize your cult leader.

Look at the 90s babies that are now grown and think that they white. Ever since Wayne blew up with that Dipset style, all the black kids want to be skateboarders, wear rockstar clothing, and listen to music outside of traditional rap and R & B. Basically a people without a culture. Even black entertainment and media fell off around the mid 00s when that rockstar lifestyle merged with the commercial rap lifestyle.

yup the 90's was the last era of true black ppl. Nowadays blacks are content to be Junior Associate White people. We had culture at one point. Watch a ole ep of Soul Train and you see that black people had a rhythm. We dont have that no more. We are fat and happy. Even allow white folks who are "friends" to call us nikka. shyts disgraceful.

I don't think it's entirely like that. Especially after that Trayvon Martin incident. I just think for some kids being Black isn't tied to being just one thing anymore. You have to remember the 80's- 90's generation dree on the 70's heavily! The Millennia kids don't have the types cultural references we do.

:dwillhuh: Philly was also one of the first to attempt a murder on Macolm. They were the first to start the movement of his sexuality because he lived and slept in the same bed with a man in north philly. They did him dirty man. I have no respects for their followers.
