only good thing i could remember, is when The Rock fought @Hollywood Hogan at Wrestlemania as that match was legendary..

Because hogan and Austin couldn't agree to a finish, so they went with rock/hogan and hall/Austin, and hall relapsed the night before mania and fell way off the wagon. They turned hogan face and were going with the og wolfpac (xpac joined on smack down after mania) including bringing back hbk which they eventually did.

They were going to go with the nwo = the full kliq but hall went to rehab, hbk was real corny at the time, they added giant and booker to give themselves numbers, and hogan flexed his way back to the title picture.

Brock, Batista, cena, and Orton were the future so they said screw this and killed the angle, and HHH created evolution instead.

TL;DR: because hall got drunk and hogans creative control

Even more so, rock was supposed to go over and HALL was supposed to go over; Austin had no problem losing to his old buddy Scott hall. But they changed it week of mania and hall relapsed.

Hall and Austin were never close or buddies. They barely even had conversations until 2002. They spoke on that during the podcast..Austin has known Nash and Scott Steiner for years though.

And they never were going to do Austin vs Hogan in 2002. It was always going to be Rock vs Austin which is part of why Austin got mad for being pushed behind that match after going over the year before at Mania 17. He no showed the night after Mania 18 because he wasnt feeling creative pushing that far behind Rock and Hogan's aftermath.

He also wasnt at the original WWF Draft which worked out again because they made it about Rock being the #1 pick just like they made it Rock and Hogan teaming up for the first time the night after Mania.

I suspect had Austin actually showed up the night after..we could of saw Rock, Austin, and Hogan team up for the first time ever. Night after Mania...another case of Rock getting on the mic and turning an anti Rock crowd in Montreal into obedient Rock fans by the end of the promo. Untouchable.

Main issue is that they were all in their mid to late 40s and the NWO had been stale as fukk since 1998. Then you add in Hall being in a bad place even for him, Nash being ultra injury prone, and Hogan's return to WWE being too big for the NWO, and you have a no win situation.

Nobody wanted to boo Razor/Diesel/Hulk coming back to the WWF to begin with. TBH though, Nash put in the most effort in years in that brief run.
