Christianity in Rome happened in 3 steps, clearing out jerusalem, burning of rome, then costantine, It was planned out since julius caesar and carried out over time. You're so caught up into thinking costantine saw a cross in the sky lol

Only if you're guaranteed heaven. I think most people would rather take the Pluto route, knowing their own sins. At least you can bargain and play the game as opposed to just hoping God overlooks one or two infractions that you might have missed or whatever.

You sure? As I understand it, those earlier Church folks were different from many of these liberal preachers running around today. They had that crazy, puritanical vibe that you find in the Old Testament books like Leviticus, where there are tons of very rigid rules. The early Christians were a Jewish sect, and so believed all that stuff- it wasn't later until the new covenant idea got solidified and the grip of the Levitical laws got relaxed. And that's a hard way to live.
