Will Smith don't gotta cuss in his raps to sell records
Well I do, so fukk him and fukk you too.
Will Smith at that time had come from nothing had a successful music career almost went bankrupt bounced back with an acting career became a blockbuster A list actor and is a family man, not to take anything from Eminem rapping ability but why was that allowed? And would we allow today someone like Slim Jesus or a Yelawolf to diss someone like lets say David Banner?

in their slander of eminem people would often cite will smith as an example of positive rap music.

sort of like how back in the day people would target richord pryor and eddie murphy and say things like "why can't they be more like cosby".

it was more of a diss to the critics he was making fun of, not will smith.

Em wouldn't have made it if he came out in the early-mid 90's or if he came out today. For some reason we weren't as conscious during the late 90's/early 2000's.

That has nothing to do it, once he signed with Dre he was destined to blow up. Infinite was released in 96, Slim Shady EP in 97. Had he released SSLP a couple of years earlier he still would've 'made it'. maybe not the same way but he still would have been 'big' artist.

Now I agree he wouldn't 'make it' now or become as huge as he is. But not because of someone being "conscious", more so because of the current fake outrage culture & social media and people being offended by every possible thing just because. Social media has made fans even more fickle & phony people expose themselves all the time now.

Because today's rap game consisting of mostly strip club music and simping over strippers is so conscious :stopitslime:

For every Kendrick/J Cole album there's like 50 other albums designed for strip clubs.
