I mean I'm in NY, and we all get excited when he drops a Tape. He gets city-wide love and respect all around NY.

He's one of those guys who's always been street relevant but never really had that serious crossover success.

Which is surprising because he's pretty charismatic, and sometimes his bars are :banderas:

Other times they're garbage and cliche. :scusthov:

Why don't yall think he ever really blew up?

Fab blew up lol but he wasn't some big name star , He was more on Jeezy/Game level in the 00's probably actually a level less than that w/ Cam/Cassidy/Lupe

Fab was/is dope. But he relied on those joints for the girls with the r&b nikka on the hook a lil too much. His albums were always mediocre because of that. That's my take. He made the type of singles that people know more for the hook than for the nikka rapping which happens alot with punchline based mc's ie Banks, Kiss etc. The connection is lost with those guys because everything is predicated on saying hot lines rather than making records that stick to the ribs. When he dropped Breathe I thought he was headed in the right direction but the album was more of the same shyt he was already doing. But shyt, he got hits and platinum plaques.:manny: Solid career. Its like Vince Carter. Put up numbers, had some highlights/classic moments. Some people disappointed he didnt do more because of the potential but overall he had a solid career, probably going to the hall.

He didn't? :dahell:

I don't think so. I mean for his career he's always been moderately hot. Never with the elites in my opinion. He's still dropping mixtapes and struggles to push records. He's been in the game 15 years breh. He ain't never been Stadium Status either. I went to fab a show last year. It was at a BBQ's :patrice:

He's had a decent career. hard to believe he's like 15 years strong. If your measuring bar for "blowing up" is 50, Em, Jay, then I guess he didn't but those guys are truly rare. I don't think Fab ever really chased the spotlight like that. He drops his projects, falls backs until he got another one. He's never really pushed hard to be "that guy."

Not even there. Game's debut sold 600k first week and pushed 2.5 milli in total.
TM 102 sold damn near 400k first week.

He's been a step above Cam and Cass though. I'm just wondering why he never REALLY blew up.
