He's had a decent career. hard to believe he's like 15 years strong. If your measuring bar for "blowing up" is 50, Em, Jay, then I guess he didn't but those guys are truly rare. I don't think Fab ever really chased the spotlight like that. He drops his projects, falls backs until he got another one. He's never really pushed hard to be "that guy."

Very good point.

There's 4 tiers of rap stars imo

Global Stars (Huge world wide fan base, considered Icons universally) : Pac, Big, Jay, Eminem, Nas, Dre, Kanye, etc.
Mega Stars (Had a HUGE run on top as the biggest rapper but never sustained it or haven't yet like the global stars): Drake, Wayne, 50, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, DMX etc..
Big names (Everyone knows them, sell records, have tons of hits, but never quite "ran the game"): T.I., Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Fabolous, etc..
Well known (Highly respected by their peers, have sold records, have hits, but just a notch below a household name): Cam'ron, Pusha T, Ghostface Killah, Meek Mill, etc..

he has been relavent for 12-13 years now.

he never was jay or drake big but for a b level artist he has had a good career and is still eating and still has a solid fanbase.

Pretty trash production, IMO.
:comeon:

anyway, fab is a great rapper but shyt like Holla Back, cant deny it, trade it all and that lil mo shiet don't stand the test of time. in fact, they're a couple of bars away from being cringeworthy.

if he had more radio singles like Lights out, Breathe instead of make me better and throw it in the bag :scusthov:, it would've benefited him more in the long run.

I mean I'm in NY, and we all get excited when he drops a Tape. He gets city-wide love and respect all around NY.

He's one of those guys who's always been street relevant but never really had that serious crossover success.

Which is surprising because he's pretty charismatic, and sometimes his bars are :banderas:

Other times they're garbage and cliche. :scusthov:

Why don't yall think he ever really blew up?
I don't know how old you are but Fab blew up pretty big during his first two albums
