Why Didn't Soul Calibur Last In The Fighting Game Scene?

I mean people are still playing street fighter fukking 2 at tournaments...the OG soul calibur on dreamcast is considered one of the GOAT fighting games and it seems to have been forgotten. why didn't it last with the evo scene/fighting game community?

It's weird but I loved that game it should be popular especially for the fighting genre but I also think fight night should be damn near annual.

namco is a piece of shyt company

they're have been 152340 street fighters... yet the top 2 fighting games... tekken and soul calibur... have like 5-6 actual games and 3-4 year waits

Soul Calibur has been since IV. The game became a fap material for virgin weabos out there. I'm not even sure if it's DOA or SC.

And a story that was a little convoluted even by fighting game standards. You only really got the story during that map campaign mode and it wasn't as compelling last I checked. my knowledge only goes back to the soul calibur that had spawn and blade as DLC so take that however you like

The soul calibur community is trash they pretty much killed there own game competitively. Soul calibur just stuck in between street fighter and tekken. Namco shows mad love to Tekken. Soul calibur really never had a chance.

Soul calibur sells pretty well, but its not making tekken money.
