Ah, Wacky, I shoulda known...

Dan Spivey... :mjlol:

Take away anybody's gimmick and they're not who they are. That's like saying "b-b-but if you take away the Million Dollar Man gimmick, Ted Dibiase woulda just been plain ol' Ted". Well, no shyt. Point is, WITH the gimmick, which honestly could've been trash without a person that played it right, Mean Mark became legendary. So even if he wasn't a Rock, Hogan, or Stone Cold, it's pretty hard to dismiss him as some sideshow act. We ain't talkin' about The Great Khali.

ahh danj! stanning for anything WWE, i shoulda known.

yes dan spivey. a name that was ringing more bells than mean mark callous.

horrible example with ted dibiase, seeing that he was poppin before the million dollar man.

yea, i said i was harsh with the side-show comment, but it sounded cool.:yeshrug:

Ted DiBiase will always be remembered first and foremost for being the Million Dollar Man... true or not?

"Stanning" for a certified legend? Then what do you call what you do for muhfukkas that ain't accomplished half of what Taker has? Oh, that's right... bein' Wacky D :russ:

You can't just put that on him, the same way you can't put it on HBK or Bret(unless you want to:mjpls:)

They laid the foundation for the huge turnaround imo, shyt don't happen over night

Let's not even go there. :youngsabo:

I don't think he was there to be the top guy, as much as he was there to serve as a reliable main event star to help get talent over. Just about every top guy for the last 25 years has had a program with ol Mark as they got to the main event scene.

He's never lost storyline credibility (Big Show, Kane), never been hurt or injured for long stretches, nor had any big scandals or outside hiccups. he's the definition of a promotion's workhorse. You need that shyt to keep things going as Hogan leaves, or Austin gets hurt or the Rock switches jobs; and the next guy is coming in.

Yep, add to the fact that Undertaker is the probably the only wrestler (that comes to mind) that has survived nearly every era of wrestling, the Hogan era, the Hart/Michaels era, the attitude era, the Ruthless Agression era, the PG Era, and even 25 years later in 2015 he's still having great main event matches against top stars.

All of the above plus plenty more is why, imo, Undertaker = The GOAT :troll:

the fact that you always immediately resort to trying to assassinate my character whenever you argue is telling.

it doesnt matter what dibiase is remembered most for. what matters is that he wouldve still been remembered regardless. can you say the same about mark callous?

why bring up the west texas redneck when you can bring up AWA WORLD CHAMPION Curt Hennig?

youre killing your own argument with the names that youre bringing up. first you bring up a guy that was already poppin, then you go and bring up a guy who was already MADE. all youre doing is furthering my point.

Nobody's assassinating your character, that's what you do! It's what you're known for! :russ: If downplaying great shyt to big up some aiiight shyt is your thing, own it! Embrace it! :lolbron:

And AWA champ Hennig is also not as revered as Mr. Perfect, that's not my opinion, that's just what it is. Hennig being champ of a company in decline is not the height of his career and you know it. There is no way to say what DiBiase would or wouldn't have been, because the fact stands that his most known incarnation is the Million Dollar Man. Has nothing to do with "WWE stanning"- you don't see me sayin' Polka Dot Dusty is >>>>>> American Dream, or Lex Express Luger >>>> Total Package, cause it ain't true. Those other two? :manny:

and youre known for jockin anything on vince's payroll, but you dont see me running to say that at the beginning of every post that addresses you.

what aiiight chit am i bigging up? did you put any thought into this post?

AWA hennig is not as revered by whom? marks? is mr perfect a bigger star than AWA curt? of course. its a bigger platform/machine. but whats your point?

dibiase was already established before million dollar man, so yes i can say that he would still be remembered. and thats all i said.

Nah.. I don't jock anything on Vince's payroll... I'm just not one of the "I hate everything WWE but I watch every week" squad. There's shyt I like and shyt I don't. Hell, I haven't liked MOST of the last six months of WWE TV. Only thing is, I'm not writing essays about it, I LEGIT haven't been interested.

I didn't say AWA Hennig is not revered at all... I said not AS revered as Mr. Perfect. That's not to say he wasn't good then, but he was champ in a company that was on its last legs.

DiBiase could have stayed in UWF and gotten drafted over to Crockett in '87 and got treated the same way 85% of that roster did... but we don't know that because the only thing that is REAL and TRUE is that he became the Million Dollar Man and became a household name. What coulda/shoulda/woulda happened in wrestling is always a wild guess at best.

He was always the 3rd or 4th guy on the roster. He was one of the top guys, but he was never THE top guy because there were always bigger drawers for the company or vince personally wanted to see certain wrestlers as the top guy.

Dude has been the main draw for wrestlemania for years with that undefeated streak tho.
i want to say something but I'm not...
