Why do Black folks hate republicans and embrace democrats?

I have no idea why Black people always side with Democrats

-Democrats were the one who wanted to continue slavery in the 1800s
-Confederate flag was made by Southern Democrats in the 1800s
-KKK are Democrats
-Feminists are democrats... nuff said
-Darwinism (Theory that black people weren´t mentally developed as white people and close to apes), was created and supported by Democrats

I don´t vote for either evil party, but if I had a choice, I´ll choose the Republicans

Yeah. Like few others have said, many blacks are religious and therefore agree with many social conservative points that don't involve race. And I agree that white liberals go crazy when they see so many blacks not agreeing with pro-gay laws.

Just a shame race is such an obstacle that racial minorities can't freely express both sides of the political spectrum and explore other social issues.

Unfortunately...however, this is exactly what I was referring to..

that's because, in america, EVERYTHING is about race. it's the big white elephant that all of us - white and black - see each days of our lives but refuse to speak about in public for fear of confrontation. america has never reconciled its horrific legacy of slavery with modern day society.

until that happens, until white people own up to what they presently enjoy off the blood shed by our ancestors, everything in this country will always be about race.

fallacious argument. it's akin to saying cuba and soviet union failed because communism doesn't work and capitalism is perfect. no, that's now how it works. cuba and soviet union were essentially ostracized, barricaded from participating in the global economy, making it difficult for them to have self-sustaining systems to support their populations. that's not because communism is a failed ideology. it's because the united states pressured the rest of the world to refuse to have any relations with those nations.

the same thing applies to blacks in the "inner city." they suffer from hiring discrimination, which is just one of many institutional forms of racism that prevent them from supporting themselves or their families. it's the same principle. so, no, the democratic party has nothing to do with why detroit failed. whites fled detroit, took their business with them, and refused to integrate blacks into a system of equal opportunity. the same can be seen in chicago and many other big cities.

Democrats used to be the part of the racist south but Lyndon Johnson and JFK basically flipped the script and when they went hard for civil rights. Before that it was that it was the republicans that were the socially progressively party. Once they saw that the racist south was available, republicans went hard for the redneck vote by going against civil rights. The southern democrats that were against civil rights either became republicans or joined the Dixiecrats (which was a party with a segregationist platform).

Republicans have since civil rights pretty much based their party on the old white racist vote in the south. Its the reason almost all the red states are in the south and the north is blue.

what happened is that in 1964 during the barry goldwater debates. The parties switched sides. All those racists dixiecrats lynch nikkas party didn't like Johnson talking about civil rights for blacks and switched to the republican party.

Because Democrats hide what the Republicans openly are. Republicans are the players who outwardly state they are after one thing. Democrats come with that baby, baby, I'm not about that talk and black folks buy it. Democrats throw negroes a crumb or two here and there and once they are satiated, they are forgotten. Isn't it funny how the overall position of blacks is pretty much the same no matter whether Dems or Repubs are in office? I didn't see a sudden increase in prosperity after the first term of Obama, nor do I see anything changing in the second term. If you think any of these political parties are your 'friend', you are solely mistaken. Democrats pretty much know they have blacks in their pocket, so they don't have to do anything for them.

Blacks aren't good negotiators...If we were smart we wouldn't be partial to either party and let them fight to accommodate us for our votes. Monopolies are never good...and Democrats have the grip hold currently.

Because minorities in the US have always voted for their self interests. When republicans freed the slaves, blacks supported republicans. When democrats passed government works plans that benefited blacks to a degree, blacks voted democrat. And when LBJ passed the CRA, blacks voted democrat. It's been that way since then. Obviously I'm skipping things to make it simple (homework: look up the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927).

Republicans elevated him to head of the RNC IMMEDIATELY following Obama's 2008 win, under the theory that all minorities respond to a superficial imagery of race. Steele was actually great for them, and was the head when they made sweeping gains in the house during the 2010 midterms. But Steele started reminding them that he's actually black, and they threw him to the bushes --- I think Steele challenged and stood up to Limbaugh or something like that, and it was the beginning of the end for him. Steele is a borderline democrat now.

Doesn't he have a show on MSNBC? I know hes at least an analyst for them now....
