Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
That's not true at all what part cuz I live in south side Dominicans have no busineses here mostly West Indian and Arab businesses I seen one dr restaurant in the whole south side

South Jamaica and Jamaica are different ethnicity wise. South Jamaica is African American and West Indian while Jamaica is your typical extra diverse Queens community. More hispanics, South Asians, Indo-Guyanese, Arabs on those sides.

I almost forgot about a spot I go to about once a month. It's across the street from family court on Jamaica ave. Plates to go be like $4

Anyone notice Dominican barbershops opening up all over the place. They are opening shop in black areas too. Crown heights and Flatbush! Just like the hair salons it looks like they are testing the waters in non-Dominican areas!
Best barbers, tbh.
At least for my hair.

That data isn't all the way accurate because if u just look at Bodegas and restaurants and bakeries, most of the employees are off the books. Most of our enterprises are cash businesses and I doubt all of the employees are reporting their full income at the end of the year. For example my parents worked off the books all of my youth and my mom collected benefits while doing so. She put herself through college doing that and once she graduated and got a good job, she got off the welfare. You gotta play the system sometimes to make it.
But that's why i ask, where is the money going?

If they are making money that is unseen, shouldn't it be put into some type of ownership. I know the home ownership rate is the lowest for all latins.

i'm not trying to shyt on dominicans, I see them as my cousins, and want better for them as well, but to fix problems you have to be honest with the situation you're in.

the fax of the matter is that all other black immigrant groups outpace dominicans when it comes to educational and economic attainment. funny since they pretend they are better than black folks

I think that's just latins in general, but I aint try to start a war of words on here, because a lot are stopping the ignorance they used to be on. I just want black/biracial(latins) people to try to come together in some sort of way, because shyt is about to get real. I used to say that knowing the shyt was a little bit off, but its getting real close, now. The celebrity shyt we looked at for decades, as people to emulate are about to be done with, and we are gonna have to acknowledge we are fukked up, for the most part, and it wasn't our fault mostly, it was systematic.

We should discuss our differences, but we should also find our faults, see why its the same for most of us, and try to fix it. If Latins wake up, it is a wrap for racism, their population is huge, and families are strongly mixed. The reason the bullshyt continues for them is because they ignore the race issues more then they should.

we send money back to DR. The money made here is light but you send that back to DR you can live comfy. Many people who come here just make money to send it back and get shyt right over there. So yeah there are those here who are broke but you ask them, they wouldn't know it because what they got here is such an upgrade to what they left behind.

Those who DO live here and make it, they're creeping into suburbs now and looking to stay there. The ones who don't stay in the same neighborhoods forever and good luck moving them out. That's why when Dominicans come in, they put their roots down and stay there.

Give it 10 years and you'll see many of us out in suburban Jersey
