What are your thoughts to why women ( not just girls, but grown ass women) follow and look up to women like these chicks?

b/c some women see them as being just like them, and if they made it on TV with no discernible talent, then somehow they can, too?

It's why the sex-tape thing was hot for a min

Of course but some are more mixed than others to where they are officially mixed and not actually black.

So were you asking if the actual black people there are more mixed than black people in the U.S.? I don't know but I don't think the genetic makeups are much different from one another.

Based on what Ive seen when visiting there most of them are mixed. My group the AAs has less mixing so its mostly black people.

So yes they are more mixed than those in the US especially features wise when you look at the whole group during their parades and such especially when they gather it shows.

Yup... They are African Caribbean... Blacks share more cultural ties with Jamaicans and hell even Haitians than they do with Puerto Ricans and/or Dominicans/Cubans

Who are "blacks" exactly? Because blacks exist in every Latin country... If I were to go back to Puerto Rico, I'd be considered a black there. Just because you've placed blacks of different nationalities in some sort of imaginary caste system, doesn't mean it actually holds water in society. you can see my black ancestry in my face and skin color and that's all that matters.

And all those tribes and ethnicities were black. :ohhh:

Get off ya high horse boo. :francis: Your blackness is tied to Africa as a descendant of slaves from the New World, and you're not unique in that, cause Puerto Ricans, Cubans, Dominicans, Brazilians, even Mexicans (yes Afro-Mexicans) are black.

Miguel Nunez is Dominican and Puerto Rican, he's not black? :comeon:

Why am I on a high horse? Because I am making distinctions?

And to your example, no. He is a dark skinned Dominican/Puerto rican...
He is an entirely different culture from me...
Who said that African Americans were the only ones to go through chattel slavery? Is that some ignorance you are projecting onto my statements in order to have a valid point?

You claim African culture is called Black... Then riddle me this....what is African-American culture called?

We are not all one in the same... There are distinct cultures and cultural differences...
That statement has no oppression olympics attached... It is merely truth...

Do we share some commonalities? No one is arguing that fact... The fact remains that Puerto Ricans and Blacks are distinct cultural groups...

I think if you disregard the mixed ones and just count the Black Puerto Ricans their DNA might be just as African as yours.

Don't do that... Don't lie to create some fictional victim story...

You are Puerto Rican... A Latina... There is no shame in that... There is no hierarchy in that...
You are not, however; Black

The Puerto Ricans who have as much as much African in them as AAs are low in number.

Most are more toward the white side based on what Ive seen when I visited there.

You're on a high horse because you're acting like being labelled black is exclusive to AA.
