Why do Jamaicans have the worst costumer service ?

I habe always had good experience with them. They always treat me like a king. You come in and be cool and they will try their best to make you happy. Hell there was a girl who always threw in a few extra dumplings my way. Golden Krust in Kissimee has also been my spot. Opens at 7 and food is fresh and we'll cooked. I can never forget the oxtail I picked up at 8 AM. Bunch of yams and cabbage.

However I found some Haitian spots that killed the cooking. Also the Haitians be mad cool with a felllow Haitian. K rather deal with and support my Black owned businesses.

My advice is always go there with an open mind and be cool.

i'm jamaican and i haven't encountered one that had good customer service my first time at their store (food trucks and festivals are a different story because there is real competition in close proximity so they have a better attitude). as a regular they treat me good, especially when i'm coming into town from out of state and they know i'm making sure to check for them. for example when i'm in houston i hit up cool runnings. a lot of the times my introduction to a jamaican restaurant when visiting various cities during carnival season is through checking out that week's carnival events in particular the all night jouvert or bottle/cooler fetes) and buying from their food truck.

I'm white and I used to get yelled at everytime I went to the spot near me because I refused to get anything but plain chicken and white rice.

The lady who ran the store would always yell at me and tell me to put some flavour on my food lol

I love my peoples, but one of the most ignorant things I ever witnessed played out like this:

Cousin: "I want stew peas, but no rice, cause I don't want those cabs"
Dutty Gal: "I dont sell stew peas alone, it comes with rice"
Cousin: "That's cool, I'll pay the same price, I don't want no rice"
Dutty Gal: "yuh deaf, we dont sell stew peas without rice"
Cousin: "I hear you, I don't want any rice as I won't be eating, so give me just the stew peas and I'LL PAY THE SAME MONEY"

Cousin "Give me how you sell it"

Cousin now gets the stew peas with the rice, proceeds to go to the garbage bin and scrapes the rice in there

Dutty Gal "Aye stinking bwoy, how you a waste my food, you take this for a joke"
Cousin " I paid for it and I told you I don't want any rice"

Put yourself in their position. If you had to deal with a bunch of ignorant, unreasonable people all day, every day, it would change your attitude before you even realize it.
