I'm a dark skinned black girl but only white guys like me. Black dudes say Im cute but don't have enough ass. They usually only ask me if I'm mixed cuz my eyes are light green

I'm from Canada :lupe:

Come down south babygirl....you'll have a lot of black suitors.

And how it's perceived when you got two light skinned people together. The assumptions other black people make about her preferences and identity, privilege and realness and bourgie aspirations.
Yeah it's usually kinda assumed they're on some boule shyt lol, but I understand why.

What's interesting is looking in my family on both sides and other families as well, I think a lot more light skinned people married each other back in the day. Like the light skinned lines of my family are all "mulatto mulatto mulatto" on census records before 1930, I mean everybody, kids, parents, grand parents, and so on. And they weren't on no talented tenth stuff either, all poor.

Even though Black is Black has always been the rule, I think mixed groups had a more cohesive identity in the past and kept it going no matter what class they were in, plus there's always been social privilege in being light skinned no matter how much money you had. I think at some point those lines got a lot more blurred, and the dynamic that we see nowadays, that this thread's about, is a lot more common.

You don't really see lightskin couples. Majority of the sistas I got play from were brown skin. The odd darkskin ones and a good amount of lightskin but I find with lightskin sistas either they love lightskin dudes or hate em. There's no in between.

Keep in mind that women tend to go for dudes who look like their dads. So plenty of beige women that go for darkskin men probably have darkskin fathers.

Interesting as 1930 census was the last to include mulatto
