Some of yall missed the point of the thread its not that "white ppl dont support rappers who are successful" i mean the CORE Hip hop heads ... who are White .. just likle we have black hip hop fans then BLACK CORE "HIP HOP HEADS" ... it always seems like when those hardcore fans are white .. they only f*ck with an artist who is wildy UNSUCCESSFUL as in not making no money .. any time an artist starts prospering .. they think he's not true to the cause.

you'll hear them bring up some random nyggas in hip hop conversations and ur lilke wtf ...

i think star was right to an extent .. some white ppl who like hip hop really like seeing the black struggle in rappers they like. they dont wanna see a nygga doing well.

For one, what do you classify as wildly unsuccessful? Because the definition of success is different for every person. It's def different for every rapper/artist. Not everybody thinks that multi-platinum sales, fame and showing off faux jewelry, throwing random money around on camera, and showing off a mansion with 30 rooms and 18 bathrooms is success. Trust me, those are the very ones that are the most unsuccessful (they aren't rich, they're broke and living in debt despite their fame) and the most unhappy. Lastly how do you know these so-called "wildly unsuccessful" rappers aren't making any money? You never saw their finance statements or bank accounts, so you don't know what kind of money they have or don't have. Billboard and sound scan don't speak for every fan or validate a fan base.

And why do you assume that it's mostly white folks that support those types of rappers? Have you been to every show of theirs to say only white folks or majority white folks support them? No you haven't. Contrary to popular belief, a lot of those rappers have a very diverse fan base. Many of them international. Hip Hop has always been this diverse. So why some folks make these generalizing stereotypical threads, I'll never know. Then again, I shouldn't be surprised. Because there's a million misconceptions about the hood and street life, and the urban community. And it's only us black folks that do this stupid sh*t. Some of y'all need to get off your computers, get out of your little crawl spaces, and go travel the world.

On the flipside, I think its corny when black people view other black people as "weird" or "acting white" if they fukk with some backpacker shyt like Doom, Immortal Technique, Cannibal Ox, Del, Madlib, etc. swag rap/ignorant rap has its place(the whip, the club, the gym, etc.) but to think that any hip hop that goes outside the norm and requires a bit of brain power to comprehend is strictly for white boys is self-hate at its worst. A lot of dudes can't get past Immortal Technique's flow(which is a valid criticism I'll admit). but if they took the time to really listen to him, they'd realize he's more pro-black and does more for the progress of minorities in this country than most of the rappers who they consider "black"

Because that's the appeal of some artist..........

look at Nas -he had dope lyrics, but always add real conscious shyt... Even look at someone like Jcole or FAbolous - they try to appeal to common shyt sometimes and are mostly relateable. Look at Jeezy- he appealed to people who grew up in the trap and white people with criminal fantasies about black people.

Because Immortal hits you with ether in the form of knowledge that the average fan may not be aware of; he has that appeal and fan base. IT's a myth that his fan base is all white. The people who go see him in concert are white - but a lot of black people with similar interest like his music.

Idk about this lol, there are those white people who fit that overly backpacker or hipster stereotype, but white people are essentially what make rappers mainstream in the first place. It depends, there are some cool ass whiteys with good taste, but I can't stand those types that only stan white rappers. Type of guys that'll tell you Eyedea was better than Nas and Vinnie Paz is one of the goats, not to mention stanning of any white rapper during the Anticon/Def Jux days. Ofc, the "I don't listen to Rap, but Eminem is the best !!". shyt reeks of racism and hate for black people. In that thread about Nas being named GOAT by that website, you had cacs saying he wasn't better than fukking Eyedea

On the flipside, nikkas need to stop disregarding rappers. It seems like "Only cacs listen to X" is the new way to shyt on rappers. I don't get the hate for Immortal Technique, he's not a great rapper, but he seems lika genuine good guy tbh. And nikkas like MF Doom, Tech N9ne, Madlib..etc suffer from that too, but then again you got nikkas on here stanning Gucci or Keef like they're the best thing to happen in rap. I won't be surprised if some clowns here think Ras Kass or Dead Prez make cac music
