Why do new black entities have to include “Latinx”?

I dont know why so many black orgs do that. Rarely do you see it being as prevalent the other way around.

I dont mind true alliances with other groups but i do feel a lot of people only align with us for benefits, not because they truly care about the black community.

"African-American" is an ethnicity, but this context seems as if "black" is racial identity, including the diaspora beyond AA and the site of being inclusive of "latinos" especially "afro-latino" as an ethnicity.

I don't care too much about the Census. It has historically been behind with nomenclature, as well as how cultural groups define themselves.

Whom?
In this context it’s meant as an ethnicity, specifically Black Americans, or else it wouldn’t be grouped in with “Latinx”

In general it can be used both as a race and ethnicity. I included the Census example to show the nuance associated with the term being tied to ethnicity.

In addition, the descendants of American chattel slavery do not have the collective power to dictate the distinction between themselves and others in the diaspora beyond the term “Black”.

What you alluded to in the bolded is more along the lines of a consequence of that lack of collective power.

Above the fray.
Is it because if they add “Latinx” group, they’ll receive more funding? Or will the company likely pass to the next round? Or are people / investors just afraid of anything that’s just “Black”? Cause Asians ain’t doing this shyt.

I was reading this article & the question popped up:

Greenwood Rolls Out GreenBook, An Online Directory of Black And Latino Businesses

For the owners, it's a smart business move. Expands their potential audience.

Latinx is an ethnicity. Black is a race.
No one worth their heritage is using the term latin”x” in the latino/Latina community - “latinx”, cringe

Are you going to post the article, name of the person who wrote the article and the source or should we just take your word for it?? Is there a reason why you chose to post the snapshot with no links?

I don't know why folks don't understand that this is about money. That is also why some of these social warrior organizations include other folks with the plight of black folks. In order to get money from non black folks who are normally donating a bunch of money to them.
