Why do Ohioans have so much state pride?

I'm from Detroit/Hamtramck, Michigan & lived in Chicago half my life...I don't really give a f about either as a state. I've never heard anyone in Chicago talk about state pride and 'Illinois this or that.' I think it b/c in Detroit there are a lot of foreigners (Arab, Russian, Albanian, etc.) and obviously there's a ton of that in Chicago too. In Ohio, nikkas grow up there, never move, and remain there for generations like some simple minded nikkas. The cities are whack so they adopt the entire state I guess.

I have family in Cleveland in Toledo and Cleveland and cousins/uncles that went to OSU, so I've actually been in Ohio. Outside of Columbus near the campus & cedar point, the entire state is farmland or ghetto.

I've actually never been to Cleveland, but Cincinnati is my second home (why I'm a Buckeye). They definitely rep Ohio hard.

For anybody that thinks the state doesn't matter, just wait until the 2016 election when all you will hear about is the state of Ohio. It's big enough where it matters a lot on a national landscape.

Not to mention it produces some of the best football in the nation outside of Florida, Texas, and Cali.

After living in Chicago, all these midwestern cities are shytholes...Outside of NYC, LA, & Miami there's no where in the US is really going to impress me.
