It's easier to categorize people than to ask the truth. Light skin is just associated with european features typically. Dark skin isn't as ambiguous to small minds.

I said a lightskin black, not black biracial. The biracial girl insisted that the lightskin black woman was biracial even though she said she was black. The biracial girl pretty much said she doesn't know she is biracial by the judgement of how she looks instead of the facts that both her parents are black.
