Every expense doesnt work that way and the ones that do oblige you, do so after being paid up in full first. Requiring a larger payment or a payment coming sooner than usual which obviously, is the issue in the first place.
Surprised how this going over people's head.

You always have to have some type of leverage to get a due date change, and that almost always requires some type of fee or advanced payment.

If you could easily change due dates, nikkas would constantly do it.

I get paid weekly and it makes it easier to go to work. However budgeting is easier with biweekly

They are talking about permanently changing your due date / billing cycle:
Don't like that your cable bill is due every month on the 3rd around rent time? They will change it for you, call them.
Don't like having your cell bill due every month on the 17th? Call them.

Can probably do it online in most cases.

Every bill you can change when it comes due or gets withdrawn from your account. Folks are confusing that with someone who can’t budget and pay bills on time trying to get a grace period :heh:

No one is confusing anything. If you are broke enough to not be able to pay your bills on time, then getting your due date changed while easy to do, demands a requirement of being up to date to do so. And that obviously means paying the next bill cycle sooner than normal or paying your next bill plus a prorate of the days added on to get your chosen due date (which broke folks won't be able to do)

The conversation is about not being able to pay bills on time and being behind now. You can't just remove the variable of falling behind and act like we are just talking about the mechanism of changing your due date.

Everyone knows you can change the date. It's just a phone call. No company is changing the date if you are behind on payments. You have to be current. And the entire reason this is a discussion now is about people falling behind on their bills and not being current so clearly "these" people we are talking about can't do it. I'm not even talking about their budgeting or lack thereof. Just the function of changing itself.

Some of y’all confusing bi weekly with bi monthly

Bi weekly = 26 pay checks per year (every other week)

Bi monthly = 24 per year

Nobody with a salary hates getting paid biweekly lol.

I'm on salary and would prefer weekly installments.

I'm paid biweekly and it's has its pros and cons. It made me a better budgeter and planner; not that I wasn't already. Knowing that I don't have a check to fukk up makes you more mindful of your spending.

I prefer biweekly to once per month. When I was at the UN, I had to finesse my pay schedule to be biweekly. Waiting every month for your check isn't it. Those taxes will devour your earnings.
