Why Do People Hate Haiti/Haitians ?

I dont know why people dislike my country. I always have friction with Jamaicans in particular. I dont have an accent so they be cool, but as soon as a Jamaican person finds out im haitian its like they put a mark on me. Jamaican lady just made me lose my job back in December and we were cool before then. She assumed i was jamaican for whatever reason. When I corrected her and told her im haitian all hell broke loose.

I can cosign the Jamaican/Haitian thing growing up (granted by HS or so that shyt gets played out). I asked my mom as a kid once why do Jamaicans and Haitians beef and she didn't even know why.

I think I asked my pops later and he let me know about the history of Haiti and the revolution and how that where a lot of stems from.

Haitians can be aiight. But some can be bytches. I remember growing up in NY and NJ there wasn't alot of other nigerian nikkas, so majority of the time i was with my jamaican side of the fam and I used to hear haitian joke all the time too.

I remember my nigerian cuzzos came from DC to visit.

And we was going to a haitian church, I got alot of cuzzos who are half haitian too. Man these random ass haitian nikkas was trying to fight my nigerian fam for nothing only for being african.

This is something I've noticed that is prevalent not just among Americans but amongst other Caribbean people and Europeans

It can't just be about the Revolution because Haitians face discrimination from other majority black /Caribbean nations like Bahamas , DR, Cuba etc.

I am Haitian, growing up ,I grew up Miami. AA brehs use to want to start fight with us just for being Haitian. It was constant fights on Haitian flag day. As our numbers started growing down in Miami, that shyt was deaded..funny Haitians get shout out by all major rappers on their songs( though negatively).

With that said, when I moved to Little Rock, AA showed me mad love from inviting me over for holidays etc. They didn't care. They saw me as black. As far dating is concerned, the last two girls I dated were Jamaican and AA lol. I don't think the animosity exist anymore.
