I'm well aware of things like Comcast's "six strikes" measure and how they count for nothing. However, the main implication was that if more people were to start pirating, actual measures would be put into place. I hope you don't seriously believe that the distributors/copyright owners would see a large spike in piracy, to the point where virtually no one bothered to purchase legally, and just sit around and do nothing. This is coming from someone who routinely uses more than 2TB in bandwidth each month, purely for uploads. I'd like to keep it that way.
