Why do so many Black podcasters have the white sidekick?

I was being coy but what I really mean is

Ain't it kinda fukced up that so many Brehs (have to?) use a white face to gain access?

Plenty of podcasts of all Black casts are dope. But this trend disturbs me.

I can see if you find Eminem and roll around with him. A white dude that has some special Hip Hop skill or sumn.

But to just pull in whatever white guy who's willing to sit there and adlib..

It’s low key embarrassing especially when a black person goes on shark tank and brings a white person with them. Then the sharks ask “who owns the business”. Black person raises their hand. And you see the collective “ohhhh” on the sharks faces as they realize what is going on.

It's like a formula for podcasts or sumn. The white dude doesn't add anything for me. He's usually just annoying.

it emanates from the notion that you'll starve serving a Black audience exclusively.

You somehow have to pander to the White mainstream audience and their dollars..that's where it comes from.

The Chinese used to do the same thing when presenting their businesses to the western market.

They would have a white spokesperson who was the face of the businesss (but didn't own it) as a way to legitimise the business to the whites.

They're not in a position where they have to continue doing this as china/chinese as a whole are recognised globally and are seen as legit.
