The Chinese used to do the same thing when presenting their businesses to the western market.

They would have a white spokesperson who was the face of the businesss (but didn't own it) as a way to legitimise the business to the whites.

They're not in a position where they have to continue doing this as china/chinese as a whole are recognised globally and are seen as legit.

In the case of the Chinese it was strategic business management. They knew exactly what they were doing, it was all about using the Whites completely.

In our case it has to do more with historical emotions leading to a lack of confidence, and an already instilled mindset that Whites have all the money and privilege..impossible to make moves unless ones by your side. Brehs be making useless cacs rich for no reason, forgetting that whites are the ones who always come running and clamoring to see what Black people are doing next. Before the mid 2000s Black people never needed a White face to see a product.
It's why I cant respect this generation..

Steinberg is from the Aries Spears & Steinberg podcast is a Mexican as well. A Mexican Jew comic to be more specific. So the show was setup that way intentionally to create a dynamic. They talk about race and racism a lot on the show.

Podcasts usually start lowbudget as a side project. Usually the cohost also happens to be the producer/audio engineer at least in the beginning. Now I'm not sure but maybe most audio type guys these days are white? I could be way off

To make it more palatable to a wider audience.

They usually pair with a white person, but I notice the trend in other media to not just add a white person, but make casts as multiracial as possible. Look at Black Panther. Really wasn't a need to add any white characters. And never forget the Fast Franchise, they got every color under the sun there. If it adds to it, by all means do that shyt.

Fact is there are over 30 million Black folks around America. That's an enormous crowd.

You win them over and other folks will look over the fence while you keep your roots.

Nothing worse than a sell out in entertainment.

You absolutely can get a highly diverse crowd if you keep it Black and be respectful to other races if you want bigger numbers.

I pulled up Apple Podcasts yesterday for the first time in years. The BHM section was filled with LGBT and white folks as hosts. I’ll stick to listening to Joe Budden, old Combat Jack, etc.

You somehow have to pander to the White mainstream audience and their dollars..that's where it comes from.

Whether you have reservations or not about who you serve, the money from anyone is good as long as they respect your business
